Carla,

Congratulations on your decisions to move forward with things.

I am so happy for you. My mom has always kind of held me down

too, so I know how you feel. I couldn't get up my efforts to

get the weight off until my mom went south for the winter almost

two years ago. Now I am struggling to get back on track so

that I will start feeling energetic again. I keep trying to

figure out when I really strayed off course. Your post jogged

something in me. I was doing so well and mom started in on me

again. Not that I needed to lose weight, I had accomplished

that after all her moaning and groaning about my weight. This

time mom was giving me the " you can't deny yourself this or that

all the time " line and getting me to eat things that I didn't

need and had not missed until I started eating them again.

Now that I know what caused that I hope I can stay on track.

Now it's personal. To thank you for helping me see where I went

wrong, I have a special offer just for you...

Once you finish cleaning your house from top to bottom you are

going to feel so good about the accomplishment. I want to keep

that going for you, so feel free to come on over and clean mine

from top to bottom! LOL - If you fell for that, I might as

well request the moon and the stars too, so bring some Splenda

along, would you. :)

Seriously,

Congratulations on your new found resolve. You can do this!!!

My mom is the same way. My 3 yo got a bad case of the stomach ache last night so guess what. I didn't finish the house BUT I did get the carpet cleaned in the closets, the floor in the laundry room visible again :)

Oh yeah, just yesterday, while at mom's, she got some caramel cookies down and proceeded to eat them. Then she made this statement "They're brand new, caramel coated". LOL I love my mom, I really do, and I know she means well, but she can't for the life of her understand that those cookies which were used to make me feel better my whole life, have turned into 280 (is) something pounds for me to carry around.

I will resume my cleaning quest in appx. 20 minutes from now, so if you don't see another post from me today call 911 because the dust bunnies have staged an attack LOL :)

Carla,

Congratulations on avoiding the cookies. I love my mom too, but I keep thinking

that it will be a lot easier staying on track once she goes south for the winter

again. Love her dearly, but don't want to listen to her comments about either

my weight or what I can and cannot have on my WOE.
