Hi Everyone

Here are two links, that tell you everything you ever wanted to know about

vitamin D. Remember, if you are taking calcium, your body will not absorb it

unless you are taking vitamin D with it.

Ten to Fifteen minutes exposure to the sun, three times a week is enough to help

your body product Vitamin D. Your body produces the best vitamin D.

If you must be in the sun for more time than this, please wear a hat, light

weight cotton slacks, and a long sleeve light colored shirt. Don't forget

sunblock too.

There are all kinds of food that is vitamin D fortified. Especially milk, and

other dairy products.

Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin that helps the body absorb calcium.

Fat-soluble vitamins are stored in the body's fatty tissue. If you take too much

your body doesn't dispose of it through your urine, it keeps it.

This can cause several serious problems. Kidney stones, is the first one that

comes to mind.

Here is a link from Medline Plus:

Here is even more detailed information about Vitamin D from a Mayo Clinic site.

It has a lot of medical terms, but is still useful. It also does not contradict

the Medline Plus link.
