Guest guest
An interesting article on research that shows the benefits of spirulina, including stimulating the immune system to fight infections, protect against cholesterol and reducing obesity: http://www.ucdmc.ucdavis.edu/news/spirulina_study.html As it pertains to post-implant women, it is somewhat confusing to me, as I am unclear how many women have an inflammatory process occuring in their bodies. Dr. Ray Sahelian says that spirulina is not advised to be taken regularly for those who have an overactive immune system-- people with lupus, autoimmune thyroiditis, pemphigus vulgaris, and other such conditions, though I found another study that shows cytokines acting as a sort of adaptogen, limiting inflammation where it is destructive, increasing it where it is helpful (as in infections). http://www.immunesupport.com/library/showarticle.cfm/ID/7128/e/1/T/CFIDS_FM/ Confusing!
