Sent from the Internet (Details) Barbara <bdg148@...>IlenaAs you know, I've got multiple autoimmune diseases, and have been sick for a couple of wks and went to the dr and had to get a sputum culture. Well, they called to tell me that the first part is back--WBC, which I knew is an infection somewhere, & the 2nd part takes a few days to come back... I got the phone call that knocked me off the wall....I've got streptococcus pneumonia. The report says--result 1--rare epithelial cells, many white blood cells, heavy growth. All resulting with something I never heard of---Streptococcus Pneumonia. He ordered me on the antibiotic, Avelox, 5 days, which I finished a few days ago, however, I'm still sick w/ the fevers, chest pain, heavy yellow mucous, etc..I'm scared because from what I found out about this, it can cause meningitis, endocarditis, myocarditis, and some other major problems, and death. Has any of the ladies had this? I'm scared because I was scheduled for some other needed surgeries, but the cardiologist has notified all my drs that I'm not to have any surgeries of any kind until I have a cardiac cath.. Before this wonderful new problem arose, I had bronchitis, and the chest x-ray showed something in the left lower lobe of the left lung. More antiobiotics....I thought maybe it might be silicone lodged there?? I hope someone can help me or knows something about this problem and what I can do or where to go.THANKSBarb
