Guest guest
>Can I ask a dumb question about liver flushes? Are we talking about enemas? > > Hi , That is not either a dumb question First, it will (like most things in life) depend upon the speaker. Second, there are a number of different protocols or receipes for liver flushes. The ones I know about don't include enemas (I'm searching my memory here to see if that is true). Some or many liver cleanses *do* involve other stuff like juice fasting or doing colon cleaning at the same time. Which means someone *might* also be doing enemas. But I don't think doing so is " implied " , generally, by " liver flushes " . Now, if you ask what colon cleaning includes, you have to be prepared for the answer. (That is an attempt at humor.) If you want to learn more, one option is to join the list bowel cleanse (on groups). It is not always the most thorough source of info, but it is the only group I know of to suggest. You could also call 800-HERBDOC and ask for their catalog and free literature--- which will include (among other things) info about using herbs (which they sell) for colon cleansing, liver cleansing, kidney cleansing, etc. Moria
Guest guest
, Um, no. The liver flush is done at the other end. Enemas afterward help get stuff out, though. No question is dumb if you are seeking to learn. Carmen > Can I ask a dumb question about liver flushes? Guest guest
Patty, Thanks-I am going to do it one of these days. I bought the Epsom salts, but I'll have to wait till payday to get the olive oil and juice. When I was asking about adding something, I just meant-is there anything I can add to the mixture to make it taste better....like sugar or honey, or whatever else might help kill the taste. I'm a big wus when it comes to drinking nasty tasting stuff! lol I very seldom eat foods high in fat, so I'm wondering if I could just go straight into the cleanse part instead?Tricia Trish <glory2glory1401@...> wrote: Leyna, There are a number of liver flushes listed on curezone.com, and you could pick one that works for you. Generally what needs to happen is that you cut out foods with fat content for half a day to let the bile build up, and then force it all to come out in great amount with the olive oil/grapefruit juice combo. You will clear out alot of stones and sludge buildup. I wasn't sure if you were asking to add something to the epsom salts or the olive oil/grapefruit mix, but generally with the latter, NO, there is nothing else that I would recommend changing. I've seen some people say they subsituted safflower oil or some other polyunsaturated oil for the olive oil, and that is just plain dangerous! Polyunsaturated oils in abundance contribute to cancer! Olive oil is a monounsaturated fat, and much more stable and healthy, so follow the saying, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it.". Now, on the epsom salts, I do use magnesium citrate in the lemon/lime flavor from the drug store instead. One is magnesium sulfate, the other magnesium citrate...they both do the same thing. I asked a pharmacist about it and he confirmed it to be okay. I can't stand epsom salts, but I can definitely get down the magnesium citrate, which tastes a little more like 7 UP. It is in the laxative section and costs about 1.50 for a bottle. I use two bottles during a liver flush. Otherwise, Check these out. Guest guest
Hi Leyna, I think I did see something on one of those flushes that said you could add some juice to the epsom salts mixture to help with the taste. Check them out...here it is...it was with the first one listed. It says [Comment inserted by webmaster: You can substitute 3 cups water (=750 dl) (that is used in this recipe to dissolve Epsom salt) with 3 cups freshly pressed grapefruit juice, or freshly pressed apple juice . That way you will not feel unpleasant taste of Magnesium Sulphate On scheduling, you probably really should stick to the overnight flush and let your body do the work it normally does when you are sleeping. Our bodies have the most opportunity for cleansing and detoxing while we are asleep. I'd stick with that 6 Pm, 8 PM and 10 PM schedule. I usually fast during the day when I do a liver flush. I eat nothing at all and then start with the first dose of magnesium citrate at 6PM and go from there. Patty Re: Re: shari-new probs..... Rogene, So, does it have to be just those ingredients? Guest guest
PH gave me the link.... http://www.southwestmedical.com/Patient_Care/Patient_Hygiene/Enema_Products_-_1500cc_Enema_Bucket/3216p0 It was easy to order, arrived quick. And cheap! I think the postage cost more than the bucket. But I like it because it is clear. PattyLynn <spinkscl@...> wrote: Patty, Do you recall where you ordered it from? Thanks, Lynn Re: Liver Flushes Hi Lynn,A coffee enema is a mild form of a liver flush. I've only done one gallbladder/ liver flush and then the next day I did a coffee enema. Several stones came out with the coffee. I do the enemas daily. Everyone I've spoken with has advised against doing liver flushes too often. For a healthy person, they suggest twice a year. For someone in our condition we should wait a few weeks to a month, according to my chiro. I saw a post where Patty said she did a liver flush and then followed with an enema...I'll eventually do that but given this was my first time I thought I'd space it out. Yes, doing both kinds of detox would be more beneficial. And yes, the weekend is best so you have the next day to rest. - PH> Thanks for your replies. Guest guest
Yes, a bucket would be better. I just came across some article today about the dangers of the bags because the plastic on them breaks down more easily and they harbor more water and pathogens because they're more difficult to clean. I see Patty has given you the link to order...thanks, Patty. - PH > > Thanks for your replies. Guest guest
I have not heard from her, Ilena may have. I am worried. No insurance will cover these people. Whatever happens to these homes will destroy many lives. And I am sure we have not heard the end of it. She moved up there maybe 5-6 years ago. I was in her former home many times, but never up to this one. I just never get out that way anymore. We met in a cafe with Ilena, our friend Ted, and myself last time I saw her. I have not had too much contact lately. Joanne is a real sweetheart. I dearly love her. Lynda At 08:28 PM 10/4/2007, you wrote: >Oh my . . . I can't imagine! . . .
