Sandy,

In answer to your question, "is it possible that implants affected our thyroids?", that is a definite yes...we've been talking on this board about thyroid issues for years. Many, many women with implants end up with malfunctioning thyroid glands.

Most often the issue is hypothyroidism, or an autoimmune hypothyroidism called Hashimoto's disease. This is what I have, and many others.

Whether or not you need further testing is something you can determine with your doctors. If you have never had an anti-TPO antibody test, I would suggest this one, as it tests for anti-thyroid antibodies. Many doctors neglect to test for the antibodies to the thyroid gland, while doing regular thyroid testing.

You didn't mention what the .788 number referred to, regarding the thyroid test. There is the TSH, the T3, T4, free T3 and free T4, but I am guessing that this is your TSH number. If it is, then it looks good. I feel best when mine is as close to zero as possible. But, everyone is different. The higher the number, the more hypothyroid you are, so if you have a low number, that is good, and it looks like normal.

However, you CAN have an autoimmune thyroid disease with normal numbers! So that is why the antibody test to the thyroid is needed.

PLEASE RESPOND ....Thyroid Testing

I had a basic thyroid test this past August

my numbers were .788 which is very normal

the nurse said. "But what do I know"???

My question is do I need further testing

Is it possible that the implants effected our thyroids?

Please Reply Soon,
