Dale Thanks for sharing your humanness. If there's anyone out here who would claim to have made changes and NEVER eaten anything that they knew was too indulgent, well...let's just say I'd never read another post of their again. Isn't it funny, though, how we all seem to be sheepish when we admit that we occasionally stray from the health routine? Thanks for the reminder about Dr. Cabot's book, too. I had meant to check that out before but forgot all about it. And thank you for sharing your experience.
Guest guest
I'll just add that the wrong type is very simply the hydrogenated vegatable oils and satruated animal fat. When I avoided all fatty foods after my attack in August of '99' it caused me to have the worst attack of all in October of '99'. This however wasn't a gallbladder attack, it was a liver attack, and hurt like none of the gallbladder ones had done. When the report came back from the ultrasound at that time it showed I no long had " A " stone and that the gallbladder was looking like any other normal gallbladder. My liver looked good too, but, it showed enlarged bile ducts ( I suspect the flushes may have streached them ) and that my blood test showed there was liver damage taking place. After getting that report I started researching the liver and found my biggest mistake in doing what I had done in trying to take care of my gallbladder was in avoiding all essential fatty acids of which the body needs in the worst of ways. I then started taking lecithin, flax seed oil, hemp oil, primrose oil and a blend of oil, on a daily basis. I have been doing that now for over two years and have not had one sever attack. I've had some warnings when I've ,,,,,,cheated,,,,, (gee that hurts to say, but lets you all know that we're not perfect) and ate something I know was too indulgent for my body. The person I have to thank most for the information of which got me to this point is Dr. Cabot and her book " The Liver Cleansing Diet " . Dale > Just wanted to comment on something you said: > " And telling a patient that he/she will be able to eat fatty foods > again after surgery is just plain nuts! " > I'm thinking you didn't mean all fatty foods, just eating the wrong > kind of fatty foods. Right? Oh yes, that's exactly what I meant. Like the surgeon who was looking for a new place to get a cheesesteak! He didn't indicate there was anything wrong with that at all. Not that there's anything wrong with having one once in a while, but.... I don't mean, though, that a person should attempt to never eat fat in their diet, because that is unhealthy as well. I think Dale shared what happened with his health when he attempted to eliminate ALL fats. It's just a matter of choosing the good ones. Thanks for clarifying that one, Adrienne!
