Guest guest
Have you tried the Hanna somatics exercises? I just got the book from the library and have been doing them for two days. These are mind-body stretching exercises. It takes long to do them at the beginning but they have given me already some relief. You can see some on youtube, but the books is better. I don't believe in cracking anything, but if you believe in something it might work.Paz. Subject: Paz: Neck Pain To: " fibromyalgiacured " <fibromyalgiacured > Date: Sunday, June 17, 2012, 5:20 AM Â Paz I was not sure if I should post this since I do not fully know how safe it is, but I use it and it helps me a lot My illness, as you know is much improved but I do still have pain in my neck, down my spin and in my right hip. My posture is also not good The pain is mild, I never need pain killers but the pain does stop me exercising as I really should Anyway, this cracking my neck has relieved a lot of pain and stiffness and enables me to exercise more. I just worry that telling you about this might not be the best idea. I know you have mentioned in the past that you are not crazy on Chiropractic treatments. But anyway, I have told you know, it is up to you By the way, Noel Batten claims that the neck is where MS and Parkinsons begins. He claims that when the spine is not aligned correctly, but especially the neck blood does not flow up to the brain correctly and also our lungs often produce less oxygen, and this too affects the brain and nervous system. He days that dopamine in the spine does not signal correctly, along with other neurons. He does not say a great deal about fibro specifically but like me he believes these illnesses are much the same thing. He says that stiff and tense muscles can pull the spine and in particular the neck out of place Hope this helps Love Joanne
Guest guest
Did you all know that I have a free set of somatics exercises for you to download? You can go to http://GravityWerks.com and receive 4 free audio trainings. You can also get the Free Neck Moves by clicking on the link for it. I'm also opening up a completely new website, MoveLikeanAnimal.com which is geared more towards athletes since I'll be attending the US National Veterans Cup Soccer Championships both as a player and I'll be teaching Somatics for the 3rd time. On the MLA videos, you'll learn how to free up muscle spasms (and more) using the brain & body. In the near future, the GW site will change and have more training videos in a similar manner to further clarify the efficacy of somatics exercises and Hanna Somatic Education. I've been pain free for 15 years and it was primarily movement which unlocked my brain and body this coming June 26th. I can't believe that I'll be playing in yet another soccer tournament and now I'm able to move better than many people. That's a far cry from the pains in my 20's & 30's. We can change our body using our brain and what's incredibly ironic is that our birthright to moving well has always been with us... some of us just got off track and off course for awhile. We've known since 1680 that our nervous system can be reset.. and that this is true for all vertebrate animals... so in this case, what works for one, does indeed work for all... and yes, it's all in your head too...err, well the brain. Move well everyone, we can get back on track and rewire our nervous system with a bit of conscious attention. The dividends are enormous! Guest guest
Paz... That's great! That's the point with somatics exercises which really we should have called them un-exercises, since they un-lock stiffness and un-do tension patterns so we can more freely move about. Look forward to hearing your thoughts and comments on the inside.
