Guest guest
Oh, ya'll are really scaring me now talking about gaining weight AFTER explant. Who all gained weight AFTER explant? I have Hashimoto's Disease (autoimmune of the thyroid) and Hypothyroidism. I gained 100 pounds the year after I got implanted, and there is no getting it off in short of literally starving myself. Exercise makes me too sick and in pain, plus I can't breathe, so that's out. (No energy to do it anyway.) Even walking bothers me. Keeping my house is order is it for me. I even have trouble grocery shopping. My hopes were that explanting would help me feel like exercising without all the nausea, fatigue, and complications... Now I'm worrying if I have explant, I will gain more weight... which would greatly make obesity related issues even worse. Obesity and heart disease are an immediate threat, because my dad has had so many heart attacks due to heart disease and stress. My doc pulled me off anti-inflammatories because of it, despite how bad I need them. She wants me to have a gastric bypass, but I'm turned off by the nausea, vomitting, and bowel problems. Lap banding is out now that I know it's done with a silicone ring filled with saline. If my husband knew this could make me gain MORE weight, there's no way he'd be trying to come up with this money for explant. He doesn't want me to do the gastric bypass (which I'm not sure I can afford to pay my 20% anyway), but he knows dieting doesn't work for me to lose weight. He's seen me diet and keep food journals for years, and not lose weight. (And it's not like I could cheat, because we hardly keep any food in the house other than exactly what I fix for dinner.) So now, after learning about weight loss surgery with me---- his answer to my weight problem is to not eat at all, and take vitamins instead. He (simple mindedly) told me that I should at least try metering out four 1 ounce meals per day, then supplimenting with vitamins ---the same way people do after weight loss surgery, except without the surgery. I explained to him that the point of surgery is to make you feel FULL after 1 ounce of food because your stomach is that size. I asked him if he could cook dinner, eat 1 ounce of it --- then sit and watch someone else eat and he told me if I wanted to lose weight badly enough I would, and reminded me that I used to be able to not eat a week at a time; however, that was before I took a complete personality change (neuro trauma), and also had more energy and was so bipolar I stayed manic all the time. (Now... no more mania, just lows.) He's never spoke up about my weight before, but apparently it's getting to him. So, this is really scary. Plus, when I go from a DD back to an A, my proportion is only going to get worse. In the wise words of Rogene to someone else who was in need of advice, I know if he can't handle my physical appearance after explant, it "makes him the big BOOB" (cracked me up)... but still, we've been together 16 years. I hate that he's taking issue with my weight all of a sudden. Any info on this gaining weight after explant matter is appreciated......... Guest guest
The easiest way to lose weight is to drop your caloric intake and increase exercise. Eating 6 small meals per day will boost your metabolism, as will exercise. We all have different metabolisms so it is easier for some to lose weight than others. One pound per week is generally recommended. Kenda > Ok Girls I have gained 25 lbs since last summer and I'm not eating > anymore...Can any of you give me any tips on losing weight ? Guest guest
, Guess what alot of women complain of after getting implants? Weight gain!! It seems that it's got something to do with the thyroid being impacted by whatever it is in the implants that causes our systems to go crazy. I've been the same weight for 25 years, and after implants I actually lost about 10 lbs, and for some reason after explant I gained all the 10 back plus 5. Guest guest
Brigite . .. Please don't stress over gaining weight after explant . . . That hasn't been a problem many women have experienced. One reason the body puts on fat is to insulate itself from the toxins it's carrying . . . When you start feeling better, you will feel like doing more, and that will help bring your weight down . . . ly, I don't believe weight is the MOST important part of our health! . . . Your weight should take care of itself when the other issues are addressed! Guest guest
Brigite, My weight gain could be because after explant I went on Xanax, because it helped my brain fog ALOT. I don't like being on Xanax and would like to be off of it eventually. I've never seen that Xanax causes weight gain, however it wouldn't surprise me because the calming effect probably slows down some bodily functions. Plus, I went off the " pill " after explant too because my blood pressure skyrocketed once I got implants, and haven't had a period since November. I went into early menopause a few years back and was on the pill to balance my hormones (this was before getting implants). So, it's possible that my weight gain has nothing to do with the implants, since my body's reaction was to LOSE weight when I got implants. I guess from only eating crackers and some soup. I recouperated about 4 weeks but when I moved back to Hawaii at 155 looking good I admit I ate all the foods I had been missing since moving from here 4 years before. Guest guest
Terri, Please feel free to email me privately. I am on a medical diet now, and have more weight than you do to lose. I have lost 24 pounds so far and it has been one month. I agree with your husband - there are too many potential complications with gastric bypass. I would not do it and am not doing it. I am not yet exercising a lot, but just a little. It's hard for me, also. I know as I lose some of the weight, it will be easier. I gained 150 pounds the last 5 years before I had my explant. I have not gained weight since the explant. I also have Hashimoto's thryoiditis and it was untreated for quite some time. Now I take armour thyroid. Explant will NOT make you gain weight. > > > > Oh, ya'll are really scaring me now talking about gaining weight > AFTER > > explant. > > > > Who all gained weight AFTER explant? > > > > I have Hashimoto's Disease (autoimmune of the thyroid) and > Hypothyroidism.
