I'm sure that most have heard about the accident that resulted in the possible paralysis of Chiefs linebacker Derrick (The article can be found at http://www.msnbe.com/msn/360983.asp). He is very fortunate to survive a rollover crash and ejection from the vehicle. A rider with him did not. A third person in the vehicle wore his seat belt- and was treated and released. Not much gray matter here about the importance of wearing seat belts. Unfortunately, this type of lesson is learned usually too late. I hope Mr. recovers from his injuries and one day use his stature of being an NFL star to tell fans and their kids that everyone should wear their seat belts or use the appropriate child safety seat evrytime they ride.
