As Lynda mentioned, you need to taper the drug. This is important, because it

is addictive

-- your body can become dependent on it, depending on the length and amount of

use.

It is possible to have a seizure with too abrupt withdrawal.

Thank you Molly, I will try very hard to come off this drug. I have been on Xanax for at least 10 years and the dose is 0.5mg....4 times a day..This must be done slowly, but I know that I can do it.

Love you..........Lea

You have to taper off of any benzodiazapine, and try natural products

like gaba or others to help.

Dearest :

I thank you, my doctors feel that this drug is good for me. One of my doctors has told me that he takes Xanax as well. He is very thin, but he does a lot of dancing and has a black belt in Tae Kwon Do. I know that he has put a limit on how many times this drug can be given to me!

Stay close came to me when I was so very sick in hospital. When would want to leave, I would always say please stay close. I doubt that I can take credit for this lovely saying, but I too love it.

Stay close to this wonderful group...love...Lea

Re: signs of detoxing

Dear Lea,You certainly know best in this case! I wonder why many doctors havedifficulty understanding that sometimes the side effects are not worththe benefit from a medication; even if, in fact, there is benefit fromthe medication!Interesting your reaction to Xanax; I too have found very smallamounts of Xanax to be helpful with pain, and use it carefully. :-)I noticed others on the list using the expression 'stay close' andused it myself in a post one day. It felt so good to 'say' it, as ithad felt good to 'hear' it from others. I bet you are the originatorof the phrase!Love,>snip< Honey, I did some research on Zoloft, and I will not takethis drug. My doctor had tried me on this drug several years ago andit made me sick, but he thought that I had not given it a chance. Hiswife has been on Zoloft for 15 years, and she is not doing any better. The only drug that I can take is Xanax and it helps with the pain.> > Stay close and keep up the great work...love you..........Lea>
