hi patty

as far as meeting in Florida goes - that would be wonderful - let me know if you are even down here.... I am about an hour-1 1/2 from Disney.... my step-daughter lives over there so we are back and forth on some weekends to get her... not as many as it used to be as she is in highschool now and is involved in a lot of activities... cheerleading, softball where she has practices on the weekends so it is not as easy for her to come down.... we will be getting her this weekend though. (actually - she lives 30 minutes on the other side of Disney so it takes almost 2 hours to get to her place)

anyways - as far as the head/brain injury question goes... it is hard to say.... I was home alone... I definitely fell in my bathroom and hit my head - that is without question. It is also almost certain that I had a seizure in there as well due to some details... since it was a grand mal-tonic clonic I remember nothing and nobody was here to witness but when I awoke on the floor #1 I had been "out" for about 30 minutes... #2 my dog is the one who woke me up - going crazy in my bathroom... jumping on me-crying, barking, running circles.. never seen her do this before... #3 I had nail marks in my palms #4 I bit my lip

now- the real question here is did I fall then have the seizure or did the seizure cause the fall? It is hard to say but based on a few details we have we are pretty certain the seizure came first... I was drying my hair-last thing I remember... when I awoke I had the full imprint of the back side of the blow dryer on my face - the left side... I fell on the right side as this is where the lump was... I am left handed and hold the dryer with my left hand... when I seized all the other times that were witnessed, my hands immediately drew up into fists, fast and hard under my chin... we did these movement after I got out of the hospital and it lines the dryer almost perfectly up to my face in this position... it hit so hard it broke the dryer.

My head, I am pretty sure by the looks of my bathroom, hit the step going up into my garden tub... I hit the crown area and to the right... had a hematoma the size of a softball or a little larger... it was huge... you could see it from across the room thru my hair but they said later that I had no concussion. you can see it plainly on the CT and MRI - blood was rushed to the area... it stuck way out and fluid was under my scalp but it was not an opened wound.

strangely it still hurts... the spot where I hit hurts to the touch and it has been like 2 1/2 months.. neuro doesn't seemed concerned but I am.... the whole area burns and aches...and is still swollen. I have asked that man a zillion questions and he has given me 0 answers that mean anything other then basically "things" happen....we don't know why.... I am thinking-yes - I am sure this is true doc but have been through hell the last 6 years or so and now, at 35 years old to have this happen out of the blue, I have some dang questions and I would like at least a few medical answers.... he is the type to write a script and push you out the door...sounds familiar. it is annoying though as I am not going there for a flu or cold - we are talking about serious brain malfunction - I am scared... I need some info... he treated me like an idiot. he said epilepsy was normal - plent of people have it and it was not anything to be scared of... ok-what kind of answer is that? plenty of people have it I know but in one week my life was turned around, I was put in meds I was told i would have to take for at least 5 years, was told I could not have more children and my drivers lic. was taken away... you think I could get an answer or two... sorry for the long paragraph here-but no-I am not confident in his doc at all - I am looking for another neuro... they have ones that specialize in seizures/epilepsy..

as far as why it happened - nobody has a clue - my neuro couldn't answer one of my questions if my life depended on it - I am looking for a new one. says it just happened... Dr. Kolb asked me to bring all the hospital reports from the CT and Mri's... maybe she will see something. All the tests they ran were normal - they say they found nothing but still diagnosed me w/ epilepsy due to the amount of seizures I had and the fact that they had so much trouble stopping them and had to put me in the hospital... I would not doubt at all that the toxins and/or the shell leftovers had something to do with all of this... the doc in the hospital said a piece of something, smaller than a pinhead could get into your brain stem via blood and cause all this "reaction" to happen... maybe a tiny piece of silicone??? I would not doubt this at all. Maybe we can get to the bottom of it after my appt next week in Atlanta... I hope.. I am pretty excited.

I am pretty sure of some stuff she will find.. candida, etc.... I guess I will be pretty ill once she starts treating me as well but it will be worth it...

I will keep everyone posted!!
