asked me to ask if any of you have experienced ringing of the ears. His left side is more involved in the PLS and the left ear is too. He was just wondering if the ringing possibly had something to do with the PLS or maybe something else. He is taking medication for it, but it doesn't seem to help.

We head for the MDA today for his yearly appointment. We are planning on getting the doctor's statement to send to SS for his retirement. I plan on telling everyone there about this great PLS group, and suggest that they might want to recommend it to any other PLS patients. (I am not even sure there are any others that go to that clinic.)

,the ringing in the ears is not connected to PLS.I have the same

problem, which came on after an auto accident left me with a whiplash,my

neuro.assurded me the ringing was due to the whiplash.

Yess, m ears ring constantly- sometimes louder than others; sometimes the

pitch changes and I've asked my husband if something is " squeaking " - poor

man- I think he finds my neuro state more challenging than I do! Lavon

,

I occasionally have some ringing in the ears, especially the left one,

but it has been going on so long I have no idea what to attribute it to.

It may have been related to the early stages of PLS. I had a strange thing

happen to me just after my first symptoms were noted by my brother and

I. That was in May 94. In Aug and part of Sept 94, I felt like I had water

in my left ear. Nothing would come out. I asked a doctor with whom I worked

whose initial specialty was internist and she said she had no idea what

would be causing it and suggest I watch how I showered carefully. I did

and it remained. It left after the problem with my legs began to become

very noticeable. Strange, but true. Mike Gray

After reading Don's posting, I realized that I have been in 3 severe

accidents which all resulted in severe whiplash. This resulted in some

stenosis at C3 & C4 (there is also some in the lumbar region). I have

been assured that none of this is related to my PLS. There has been some

ringing in my ears last night and this morning. I am tired when I notice

it the most. I also feel like my ears are about to "pop" occasionally.

This all may be related to my asthma and allergies, especially since the

"popping" is more prevalent during the allergey "season." I am on meds

for this. Mike
