Guest guest
, We are the same age. I was just talking to my 48 year old sister last night and she mentioned all of these symptoms, which are recognized as menopausal. My sister does not have implants. We recognized that we are both going through menopause or are perimenopausal at our ages. It could be that the implants contributed to heading into menopause, though you and I are at the age when this would be happening anyway. My mother didn't even start until she was over 50. I personally have erratic periods now, coming anywhere between 25 and 86 days apart over the last year. And they are very light, lasting only a day or two with very, very light flow. It's just that time, girlfriend.... Patty I need to ask you Girls a question..please respond. I THINK I could be going thru menopause but I have no one to ask, my Mom had a hysterectomy so she doesn't know...my question is..I'm 47 ,my periods still come every 28 days but now I wake up in the middle of the night hot and sweaty and TODAY I got real hot for about 5 minutes or so sweating on my forehead my neck and down my breast then it went away...is this menopause ? Or implant related Thanks
Guest guest
Oh, I wanted to mention that I have purchased and am using bioidentical hormonal creams. I am using Esnatri estrogen cream and Life Flo progesterone creams with good results. My latest blood work measured FSH (follicle stimulating hormone) and the level was in the range of postmenopausal. Patty I need to ask you Girls a question..please respond. Guest guest
Sounds like perimenopause. Menopause is the absence of periods for one year. Perimenopause can last for a few years, until your periods cease. Guest guest
I'm 46 and haven't had a period in nearly a year and I never had implants. All of the women in my family have had hysterectomies so no one knows the age women in my family typically go into menopause. I have had a lot of hormone testing and Dr. Leu believes I will not have any more periods. Kenda > , > We are the same age. Guest guest
I went through an early menopause a few years ago, and that's how it was with me. I woke up in the middle of the night feeling like hot lava was bubbling on my chest, and I'd have to remove whatever I was wearing because it was unbearable. I had a hard time sleeping, too, and I'd wake up about the same time every night. I'd have major hot flashes during the day, too. Guest guest
I have purchased Life Flo progesterone cream on the net and in my local health food store. The estrogen creams I have purchased strictly off the net. I have bought these two, and like them both: http://www.taoofherbs.com/products/159.asp (this already has the progesterone in it) http://www.biogenesis-antiaging.com/p37/Estrogen-Natural-(Esnatri)/product_info.html (I use this one with the Life Flo) Patty I need to ask you Girls a question..please respond.>> I THINK I could be going thru menopause but I > have no one to ask, my Mom had a hysterectomy > so she doesn't know...my question is..I'm 47 > ,my periods still come every 28 days but now I > wake up in the middle of the night hot and > sweaty and TODAY I got real hot for about 5 > minutes or so sweating on my forehead my neck > and down my breast then it went away...is this > menopause ? Guest guest
Yeah, you may not have them every day - it could just be certain times of the month. Guest guest
- Hi I just wanted to weigh in on this. First, , those are perimenopausal symptoms. Unfortunately, perimenopause can be a rough time for many women. My sister who is an rn works in a doctor's office and talks to many many women about menopause symptoms. I can tellyou she hasn't seen many who haven't had some real rough patches with hormonal imbalance. What many people don't realize is that perimenopause can go on for years before we reach menopause. I am 52 and still not in menopause put have been having symptoms for probably at least eight years. It is all so different for each of us. In general though, people with fms, or any autoimmune condition, are going to be negatively impacted by hormone imbalance such as this time in their lives. This is true for me. I can swing to feeling totally well to feeling very unwell depending on my hormones. My level of pain can go from nonexistent to high depending on my hormones. I am really ready to be in menopause because it is the FLUCTUATIONS that are the hardest on it. In the same month you can test so low on hormones to be considered menopausal and then perfectly normal a few days later. Hormone therapy can certainly help, but while hormones are furiously fluctuating they won't be as useful as after menopause if you should have symptoms that need help. Also be aware that even progesterone cream can build up in your system and make your blood levels too high. If that happens, it can take a long time to get them back down.I did find that progesterone cream helped me with my hot flashes. But I never had the positive experience with the estrogens like biest or triest that I hoped to. Even little bits seemed to make by breasts get strange sensations in them and they didn't help my depression. But that is me. Everyone responds differently to just about everything out there. I do find it encouraging though, that eventually the fluctuations will be over and then I believe we will feel better. Guest guest
The one thing that every woman considering hormone replacement should know is that many breast cancers are estrogen sensitive - i.e., they develop/grow more readly when more estrogen is present. . . . If you are having only minor problems with menopause, it's safer to tough them out! At least, talk it over with your doctor! Rogene
Guest guest
Not necessarily, Rogene. Natural hormones should not contribute to breast cancer . Of course you always need to treat with a doctor and have regular testing to be sure you are in balance. Kenda > The one thing that every woman considering hormone replacement should know is > that many breast cancers are estrogen sensitive - i.e., they develop/grow more > readly when more estrogen is present. . . . > > If you are having only minor problems with menopause, it's safer to tough > them out! Guest guest
The problem with estrogen and their effect on cancer may perhaps lie with the synthetic xenogenic chemicals found all over our globe, and with synthetic hormones women are given in birth control and HRT. I believe it is bio-identical estriol that has been suggested as actually breast cancer protective, as well as progesterone. ("The recent resurgence in estriol research is confirming the discoveries made in the mid-20th century: Estriol is a "good" estrogen. More estriol means less cancer risk. Estriol appears to block many of the effects of estradiol (E2), estrone (E1), and other "pro-carcinogenic" estrogens. " http://www.tahoma-clinic.com/hrtbreastcancer.shtml ) In any case, I think the warnings are well placed. We certainly don't want to be too flippant about using hormonal creams, which definitely alter our hormonal balance. Patty Re: Re: I need to ask you Girls a question..please respond. Guest guest
They certainly do on me. I can tell without a doubt when I've used the creams, specifically the estrogen ones. I almost feel pregnant (nausea reminiscent of morning sickness. Yuck.) Also, when I used the progesterone cream alone, it affected my periods. So, I know they work! Guest guest
Just have chemotherapy, no menopause symptoms and no peri-menopause either. All gone immediately. Of course the hormone levels drop dramatically immediately. Lynda At 01:15 PM 11/20/2006, you wrote: >- >Hi I just wanted to weigh in on this. First, , those are >perimenopausal symptoms.
