Guest guest
Barry, What is the difference between eating fat foods being bad for your gallbladder, and taking olive oil to loosen and get rid of stones. I find I'm so baffled by this. Why does olive oil help stones come out, yet fat (an oil also) cause the gallbladder trouble and make stones? Please go into some detail here if you can Barry. (I'm obviously a bit slow) Thanks,
Guest guest
, Don't worry, I'm a bit slow too. I'm still a newbie to all this and only have acouple months in here with 3 flushes notched in my toilet seat. :-) I can try to explain what I understand so far and maybe someone else can answer also.. Olive oil will cause your GB to contract just like eating a heavy fatty meal (like a pizza for instance), but olive oil doesn't have any cholesterol which is what stones are usually formed and made from. Eating regular fatty cholesterol to excess and putting excess burden on a sluggish liver will cause the cholesterol in the bile to form stones. They may come out normally through regular bodily function but if they get into the GB and your bile production and release is low or sluggish, then the stones will stay there and even grow in size and could become harder (calcified). Then it will be more difficult for the body to rid the stones when the GB contracts to send bile to the intestine. So, in a flush, the olive oil causes the GB to contract and push out the stones. Without cholesterol. Does this make sense? You should read some liver sites to see how the liver and GB function together and how the bile works to help digest food. It will answer a lot of your questions better than I can. :-) Maybe someone else can explain it more clearly for you. You did a great job of explaining without a technical overload of information. in health,
