Guest guest
Hi Joanne and all, I was wondering if you had heard about the MTHFR gene mutation as it relates to fibro and autism? I just heard a speech from a Dr. Rawlins that talks about the gene mutation. We can get a blood test done to see if we have this mutation that should be covered by insurance. Of course, we have to request it from our doctors. There is a reduced form of folate that can be used by people with this mutation. It is called Deplin, or Leucovorin. This can be prescribed by your doctor. It helps us to be able to detox better. Microwaving in plastic can cause this mutation. Actually, BPA in water bottles, and plastic containers that leach it will cause this mutation. I am getting checked for this as well as my son with autism. I know that when I was younger I did microwave in plastic. I didn't understand the dangers behind it. I hope this helps you all!! Many blessings, Margaret
Guest guest
Hi, You may have seem my post about gene expressions, and how our bodies can change and start healing and detoxing better. That is, if we get optimal nutrition, and avoid toxins that can interfere with our gene expressions. I do not believe in evolution, as some still do after considering epigenetics. This is how we adapt to our environment, and bring changes within a species, not change into a new species. There is a lot more on epigenetics on the web. http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2009/04/090412081315.htm C > > Hi Joanne and all, > > I was wondering if you had heard about the MTHFR gene mutation as it relates to fibro and autism? Guest guest
Thank you for the links on MTHFR. They are interesting and helpful. I still believe that the diet is the best thing for us. I just think there are some things that can help us along the way to feel better sooner. I am looking for healing for my son. Although I have been doing a low carb diet with him for almost three years and he is 8 y.o. He is still not healed from autism. I have added some supplements to his diet that Bee doesn't recommend. I do feel that we are making gains. They are slow. We just keep doing all we can do. I feel that this gene mutation information is just one more step toward our goal of getting him healed. Guest guest
Dear and Joanne, Thank you so much for your reply. I am really trying to do all I can to help people here and wherever I can. I know that there are some people who can't do the diet for whatever reason. At least this will be of some help to them. I read about one boy who was suicidal and became outgoing when this problem was solved for him. I think that if people are not feeling suicidal and can think more rationally then they may be able to think about treating themselves with diet. That is what I hope will be the progression of their thought pattern anyhow. God bless you, Margaret
