Guest guest
Just won another medal at the Washington State Senior Games. This bronze medal will compliment the silver medal I won a few weeks ago at the US National Veteran Cup. Being 51 doesn't mean we can't keep playing, yet even among the many athletes I met and played with... wouldn't you know their physical complaints of stiffness, immobility, and continuing niggling injuries surfaced as it always does at such events. They couldn't believe it I lived with fibromyalgia as they witnessed how I ran and comfortably moved - of course I had to show my worn out tattered disability card to some of them. Many athletes down ibuprofens right before a game... or they'll ice up afterwards or even do what I'm seeing Olympic athletes now do which is all the rage - they're taping. Unfortunately none of these band-aid measures changes the brain's ability to foster change in our muscles which is often where we feel our pains and discomforts. Our brain has the capacity to change the signals the muscles are receiving so we can learn to uncompensate held positions, lower held tension levels, and reduce stress so we can be easily more mobile, restore natural flexibility thus leading to pain signals dampening down. In the natural way healthy vertebrate animals restore their capacity to move well, so can we the human animal so walking down the driveway or sitting in the car can become comfortable and remain so. I made 3 videos on how our brain can be used to change the signals so our bodies can return to comfort. Please check it out as I've been testing and using this method for a decade to remain pain free and keep playing.
