Guest guest
Carol, I don't have any words of wisdom as to why you're having this rough time. I was pretty swollen this week, too so am now on the lasix routine, too. I always walk my dog and just could not do it this week. He kept looking at me in the most pitiful way as if to say " What's up and why are we walking? But I love you anyway. " Anyway, I finally made it yesterday. This letter is just to let you know others are thinking of you and hang in there. For those of you with fibro, how do you get past someone touching you with this deep muscle massage? It sounds great but I don't know if I could stand it. I have to train myself not to flinch when someone touches my upper back/shoulder. I had a parent who kept wanting to hug me at our school's open house; I couldn't tell you a word she said cause all I was thinking about the fact she was touching my shoulder! I wish so badly that there was something that I could do for you to make you better once again. I do understand the depression but please don't let yourself stay in the dark. Please make yourself get some sunshine & fresh air. You are worrying me that you are in deep depression. Please remain strong & continue the fight to get out of the wheelchair. May God be with you, Lori

Carol, If you are not urinating, and swelling so much in your legs, you need to have a lab profile for any kind of kindney, hormonal disorder, circulatory, or adrenal problems. These are the only things I can remember having the type of reactions that you speak of. I am so sorry you feel that badly and hope they can find out what is going on so you can get some relief. Guest guest
Dear Bennie, Thank you for your words of encouragement. My doctor did run several tests and we found out that my bladder has fallen along with a few other things, into the space where my uterus used to be. He is making me an appointment with a Urologist. He did say that it would take a pretty major surgery to repair all of it. I'm scared to death and more depressed than ever. Can anyone tell me what to expect in all of this. I would deeply appreciate it. Thank you, Carol (OK)
Guest guest
A friend of mine had major reconstructive surgery on this area and came through with flying colors. It's a little painful till it heals but it's apparently pretty foolproof. She is using a specialized ring to hold her bladder inside. My Mom's gynecologist doesn't want to do any type of surgery because of how intensive it is and then it isn't even guarenteed to work. Therefore, she is willing to continue going on the current path. She says that it isn't that bad wearing the ring once you get accustom to the way it feels. The gynecologist told my Mom that he is waiting on a trial that is being done somewhere that the doctors are using a mesh material like what they use for hernia repairs. He said that once they have the mesh perfected then he will repair her bladder. Now, we live in the Texas Panhandle & our medicine here isn't as good as it once was so you may have a better opportunity to have a repair done. Good luck & please let me know what the urologist tells you. Lori
Guest guest
I've had the same problem for 15 years. I doubt that I'll do anything to fix it. Don't want to press my luck with surgeries. Unless my bladder falls all the way out of my vagina, I'll manage. Jennette Thank you for your words of encouragement. Yes it is major, Follow instructions, don't lift afterwards and keep thinking the good things it will be afterward. Remember the imagery. It does not hurt to ask for a small dose of anti anxiety medication either. I took valium 5mg a week before my hysterectomy when I became so distressed. I had had many surgeries but it was just this time I was anxious. It made the difference it the world. I would go to the internet and type in the surgery, pre and post operative instructions so it is in a written format. Read this everyday and it will have your prepared before you go. Remember to list any quirks you have (breathing etc for being put to sleep). Set up your house, get friends and support ready for post operative recuperation. When I have been able to prepare for something and be part of it, I become less anxious and more prepared. Good Luck and let us know how you do.
