Toni, Amen what Cheryl said. I had five second opinions and went to a neurosurgeon, orthopedic surgeon, and other specialists. Only you can decide. I had a three level spinal fusion, did great then had an auto accident. It did NOT take away the degenerative disc disease pain but made it where I could walk and not have numbness. I will not have any other surgeries, stimulator placement, or injections. They cause scarring and I got that problem along with adhesive achronoidosis. So, Do the research, talk specifically with a list of questions. My insurance did pay for the second, third, and fourth opinions so let them know what you are doing. I am against the pain pump as it has had recalls from the FDA and current literature is not all that great for it. The refills cost thousands of dollars and if you go to the FDA web site and look under recalls, you will see that it has been recalled. Just my opinion. It is a surgery to implant it and I do not need that with more scarring. Good Luck and let us know how you do. Bennie
