Guest guest
Emerald, When you look back, you'll know you worried about the wrong surgery! The best thing you can do for yourself is relax and entertain beautiful thoughts. I keep dreaming about it, and they are usually funny and frightening. Last night's dream, I didn't know not to eat or drink ahead of time, and drank gallons of this wonderful cold water right before I went in to the Operating room, and they did the proceedure anyhow! When I woke up, the dr said I had 'cupcake breasts' and I was totally amused and happy about that. Then, the nurse handed me a monkey to pet (??) to make me feel better. In all seriousness, though, when I actually think about the night before surgery, etc., I breathe so shallowly, and it feels like a mini panic attack. My heart rate has always been faster than most, I wonder if this will be a problem?? when I was implanted, I was so blase about it, because I had no clue about the dangers and really wanted them, so I didn't get all 'speedy'.I have a list of what I must avoid two wks before and two weeks after and garlic is one of them - garlic is a hard one - I didn't realize how hard that would be to cut out.looking forward to reading the msgs I missed this weekend! Guest guest
, I'm so excited with you! That was quite the dream. lol When I was coming off my anaesthetic, I was talking to my granddaughter, and daughter-in-law - laying on my couch in the livingroom, not realizing my two sons were within earshot. I was saying, " I don't care if my boobs look like fried eggs, lemons, canteloupes, or watermelons.....as long as their mine! " Boy, I wondered why my granddaughter looked at me so weirdly. They told me later how I was grinning with my eyes closed, and then asking what time it was, every 2 minutes for 1/2 an hour. My soon had a real hoot with this. I warned them to remove the children if I start telling dirty jokes. Soon you will be " au naturelle " . Hooray!!!!! Love ya, Sunny > > hi ladies! > > I have been away for a few weeks, working like mad, just incredibly > busy and stressful at work, wish I had more time to take care of > myself and slow down before the explant. > > Anyhow, my surgery is two weeks from today - I have an apt tomorrow > to test my platelet levels, etc. I had to start on the vitamin > regime this dr uses, today....lots of vitamins - you know how those > can hit your stomach in high doses, lol! > > I am surprised that I have as much anxiety about it as I do....I am > very excited to get them out actually, but have continued anxiety > that I wish the dr's attitude was like Melmed's. Guest guest
Rogene - that was EXACTLY what I needed to hear! that statement just hit me so emotionally - you are so right, of course! yes, yes, yes, I will be reminding myself of that from here on out. Guest guest
, one nurse told me she's heard everything and they are very forgiving! When I had my hysterectomy I was hallucinating later that night....I saw big, black beetles on my bed! I sat up with a jolt and starting swatting everywhere. Thank God the lady next to me was compassionate. The nurse that came in a few minutes later, was not so nice. She yelled at me, " What's going on in here? " I felt like a little kid in trouble! lol I love insects and animals, so it was really weird for me being half-stoned on anaesthetic and demoral and swatting beetles! LOL Love ya, Sunny p.s. we have to laugh at life, or life gets too serious...that's my motto. > > hi ladies! > > > > I have been away for a few weeks, working like mad, just > incredibly > > busy and stressful at work, wish I had more time to take care of > > myself and slow down before the explant. > > > > Anyhow, my surgery is two weeks from today - I have an apt > tomorrow > > to test my platelet levels, etc. I had to start on the vitamin > > regime this dr uses, today....lots of vitamins - you know how > those > > can hit your stomach in high doses, lol! > > > > I am surprised that I have as much anxiety about it as I do....I > am > > very excited to get them out actually, but have continued anxiety > > that I wish the dr's attitude was like Melmed's. Guest guest
Leyna, Wow, that was really freaky! Scalpel and all! I don't know the name of the anaesthetic, but I know I had it mixed with demarol (sp?)..Strange isn't it, how these things affect us. Scary, too. Nowadays, I find the anaesthetics much better. I've gone through alot of surgeries in my time. There was no garlic taste this time and we joked about that...he offered to go and get me some garlic! After my explant I had mild symptoms, other than being kinda funny and chatty. I felt almost too good for 3 days and did a little too much. I am so grateful to have my own body back. Every night when I change for bed, even though I've got love handles now, I love the way my breasts feel when I take off my sports bra. Not sore anymore...light and yes, even a little bouncy! lol Love you lots, Sunny -- In , Leyna <leyna1964@...> wrote: > > Sunny, > How weird about the hallucinations! Was it from the anesthesia? I had a bad hallucination one time when I had surgery and they used Stadol (sp?) as the anesthesia. I had miscarried and was getting a DNC, and I hallucinated that the surgeon was coming at me with a huge bloody scalpal! I started screaming " Don't take my baby!!!! " over and over till they knocked me out! So now I just tell doctors NOT to give me Stadol when I have surgery-I was told afterwards that hallucinating is a common side effect of it! > > Sunny <wellnessnow@...> wrote: > , one nurse told me she's heard everything and they are very > forgiving!
