Guest guest
. . . I don't understand why you didn't sleep with ambien . . . One really needs to be ready for bed before taking it . . . Also, it's an amnesic drug. Is it possible you slept but don't know it. There have been some funny/scary stories of what's happened on Ambien. Nevertheless, I'd leave it alone!Emerald Kittee <emeraldkittee@...> wrote: I have been having trouble sleeping/staying asleep and since I am now sick and need to get well for explant on Friday, the dr. ok'd me taking an ambien. Guest guest
I know! I heard some ok stuff about it, too, Rogene! I also read it is just over a year old? I just talked to my mom who says she was given some sleeping aid when I was a kid and her whole right side was paralyzed, she fell out of bed, and couldn't move or talk for a whole day. You gotta wonder - we do share some of the same genetics, so I am taking this as a warning that I need to stay away from sleeping pills. If it works easily for others, I am glad, but just shows you we are all individuals and certain body chemistries go haywire with certain drugs. I really don't want to take the Lorazepam (anti anxiety) the day of now - I have to take anitbiotics, anti-nauseau, and celebrex - the idea of the anti anxiety drug makes me anxious, lol, so I figure this should be MY choice? My boss is letting me stay home again - I can't walk much less drive right now. > > > > I have been having trouble sleeping/staying asleep and since I am > > now sick and need to get well for explant on Friday, the dr. ok'd > me > > taking an ambien. Guest guest
I read it was a amnesiac drug - spooky! I can confirm I didn't sleep though, after 3 hrs of not taking it I was up - my boyfriend did witness it lol, and witnessed me up at midnight as well. but who knows, I may have entered the AMBIEN ZONE muahahhaahah. In all seriousness, my ps just had her assistant called back and said it CAN keep some people up and give horrible muscle spasms and stomach crapping and feeling of 'paralysis' - she said if it gets bad, benedryl works. (Plus it knocks you out - and I do not have trouble with benedryl) Good to know this! Rogene S <saxony01@...> wrote: . . . I don't understand why you didn't sleep with ambien . . . Guest guest
, I hate Ambien. I will never take it again. I use 5-htp and it works wonders for me. I know I am sleeping deeply because I don't wake up all the time like I use to and my dreams are wild and crazy. If you are taking an antidepressant, though, you need to talk to your doc before taking it. I've heard some positive things about the new sleep med, Lunesta, which is purportedly nonaddictive. I have never taken it but might get a prescription in case of the occasional difficult night.Maybe your explanting PS can prescribe some for you to try. I can sympathize with not sleeping well. It is the worst thing ever to toss and turn all night, and then try and get through a day on a bad night's sleep. I do believe your sleep patterns will improve after explant, like many of us. Guest guest
Thanks Bindi - glad to know I am not the only one who didn't care for Ambien. Benedryl always worked for me, although I can't sleep then for several days after taking it - but it seems you run the risk of that happening w/ any OTC or prescription drug. And yes, I bet everything will get back to normal soon!freebindi <bindi@...> wrote: , I hate Ambien. I will never take it again. I use 5-htp and it works wonders for me. Guest guest
Check any med (prescription or OTC) for silicone dioxide . . . You may not be hypersensitive to silicone, but if you are, it can take some time to get straightened out after taking a medication with it.Emeraldkittee <emeraldkittee@...> wrote: Thanks Bindi - glad to know I am not the only one who didn't care for Ambien. Guest guest
Life has side effects! I've had side effects from Ambien, but I needed it for sleep for a short time. If it troubles you don't take it.
Guest guest
, that's a terrible thing to happen to you! I've never taken Ambien, so I can't comment there, but I was on Crestor at one time for high cholesterol, and my muscles just went into huge pain mode. I stopped taking it, much to my doctor's disapproval. I've got enough muscle pain, don't need to add to that! Wish you well and many blessings, Love, Sunny Happy Granny of 4 Angels > > I have been having trouble sleeping/staying asleep and since I am > now sick and need to get well for explant on Friday, the dr. ok'd me > taking an ambien. Guest guest
, I've taken Ativan before (lorezapam sp?) I think it's the same thing, isn't it? I personally didn't have any ill side effects, especially if it's for a short term..It just made me feel relaxed which is an odd feeling for me! I'm quite a high energy ole lady! I'd be more cautious about the Celebrex. It's hard to say....cuz everyone reacts differently to certain drugs. Mixing too many scares me. Guest guest
Oh, my gosh, - the AMBIEN ZONE! That's a giggle and scary at the same time. I've had opposite reactions to drugs, as well. Tylenol 3's used to get me so wired I'd be super woman! Most people told me they sleep on them. Also, I forget the name, but it was a relaxant...I would fall asleep and wake up an hour later, just buzzin'! We're all just human, yet all so unique, eh? I just realized....no one else says eh? on the site! Lea, come on, ya gotta join me on this one! Canadian, eh? JOKE: How do you spell Canada? C - A - N - A -D - eh? Soon you will be a new woman, implant free and on the road to a new and healthy life! Wooo Hoooooo!! Guest guest
In doing some research yesterday, I found out that sales have dropped dramatically - maybe because of newer ones like Lunesta? > > > > > > I have been having trouble sleeping/staying asleep and since I > am > > > now sick and need to get well for explant on Friday, the dr. > ok'd > > me > > > taking an ambien. Guest guest
-Thanks Sunny, and yes, Lorezapam and Ativan is the same. They said it was up to me about that one, but they MAKE you take celebrex. I told them I couldn't afford the $300 bottle they wanted me to get, so I only got 7 pills, which was the minimum the ps said I could get. So, Friday morning it will be Ativan, Keflex, and Reglan (nausea). Some of the other ladies here said celebrex could be an issue if it was taken for a long time. Mixing them is freaky to me as well - I am not on a single prescription drug, so my system isn't quite used to it. -- In , " Sunny " <wellnessnow@...> wrote: > > , I've taken Ativan before (lorezapam sp?) Guest guest
Bindi - that's right, when I spoke to Melmed he said he loved what Celebrex did for the healing. Thanks, I feel better about the short term use now. > > > > > > > > > > I have been having trouble sleeping/staying asleep and since > I > > > am > > > > > now sick and need to get well for explant on Friday, the dr. > > > ok'd > > > > me > > > > > taking an ambien.
