Guest guest
, If it was my decision I wouldn't change a thing, You will be resting and taking antibiotics and healing. Don't let a sore throat slow you down. You will be fine just jitters. We will all be here for you during your recovery and praying for healing. Just my opinion, you have a bigger health problem than a sore throat you have those implants. Terri P > > I woke with a raw throat and headache today, after feeling 'off' > yesterday. Guest guest
, If you are truly sick, the doctor will cancel your explant. I wasn't feeling terrific prior to knee surgery and was terrified the doctor would cancel my surgery. I told him how I felt, similarly to how you say you are feeling, and he wasn't concerned at all and I had the surgery. Being really sick is cause for alarm though. Guest guest
hey Terry, Well, it looks like it's gonna be postponed my cold kind of blossomed - the thing is, I have so much yucky stuff in my throat and sinuses now - the dr said if I didn't have a fever and was not mucusy it'd be ok, but if it is a 'productive' cold, we'd better wait - she says, since the tube is down your throat, that bacteria gets pushed in the lungs and you can get pneumonia. I was so worried about getting rest that I was up all night. She said she can do it Friday - I hope she is right about that. Now, I have to re-arrange everything with work and all that. . I was actually able to talk to her at home yesterday, and she called in an antibiotic yesterday, in case it would head anything off before tomorrow. I agree though, there are more important things than this cold! so, only a few days more! Guest guest
Thank you Terri - I will be thinking of you ALL on Friday morning. Most people will be very full the day after Thanksgiving, but I will have eaten fruits and veggies and nothing too late on that day, lol > > > > > > I woke with a raw throat and headache today, after feeling 'off' > > > yesterday. Guest guest
So, anyhow the update is I take one antibiotic for this cold and then switch to the keflex the day of surgery. She emailed me to get on a probiotic too, which I had, of course, already done - still, I am glad she embraces some of this thinking (ie, this and lympathic massage and proper nurtrition). I am glad I am not going tomorrow - I can't breathe out of my nose, and since my asthma/wheeziness is acting up, it troubled me enough to make me sleepless last nite. So excited - it's gonna be great! these 'things' feel so heavy the closer I get - that provebial 'finish line' is looming straight ahead > > > > > > > > I woke with a raw throat and headache today, after > feeling 'off' > > > > yesterday. Guest guest
. . . Zinc losenges can help . . . let them melt in your mouth. Guest guest
, You won't believe how much easier this sugery is compared to implanting, They had to stretch everything to get them in and when they come out you are sore but no where near the pain I had at implant time. I pray that everything is smooth for you and you will be happy to have your chest be soft again. Best of good wishes, make sure you give yourself time to grieve it is so important to let it go. Go to links under explantation there is dealing with explantation. It is so helpful so you know what can help you through this, Even though we know it is the right thing it is still a letting go of something that has been part of you and it is ok to grieve for the loss. You will be thought of until we hear from you and know you are ok. Love and aloha, Terri P > > > > > > > > > > I woke with a raw throat and headache today, after > > feeling 'off' > > > > > yesterday. Is this a great cause for alarm? Guest guest
Aw, Terri, you are so sweet - thanks for the fabulous words of comfort. I am only irritated at my current cold/pain, but am super exited for Friday - I feel so positive about it, and I want to be small again - I am noticing women with 'yoga' bodies - you know smaller on top, but very fit and taking that as my new personal beauty ideal. Surely, many of us forgot that beauty comes in many packages. > > > > > > > > > > > > I woke with a raw throat and headache today, after > > > feeling 'off' > > > > > > yesterday. Guest guest
Dear , I would hazard a guess that your anxiety level right now is about a 10 on a 1 to 10 scale! Just the surgery alone would be enough to give you very sweaty palms. :-) You need to defocus, get your mind off the upcoming surgery. Watch some DVDs you enjoy. Read a good book. Listen to comforting music. Meditate. Stretch. Drink nice warm cups of your favorite tea. Soups are always good for a cold. You're going to be just fine, sweetie. All of us are here for you. But I really think, JMHO, that you must not get yourself into a gigantic hairball over this. Perhaps get away from the computer for awhile. :-) Find something to occupy your mind, your hands, your ears. Om mani padme hum! Sweet dreams in the 3 nights ahead, and restful days. Let it be.
