Hi , I am really interested in hearing how this doctor does explant. I am assuming that this doctor is not on our list, right? Is this a Chicago area doctor? (Boy, do we need one!) It sounds like she does everything right, and so I am keeping my fingers crossed! How did you come up with this one? assistant said 'before we go any further, there are some items that the dr is adament about before she will meet you to discuss explant. She requires a copy of your initial operating report and information on the implants you have - make, etc - she also would like any current medical issues/reports you have, as well as mammograms' - I was curious about this approach! I informed her that I was interested only in explant with the capsule removed, and she said she wasn't sure what that was, but the dr. required a capsulectomy with explant! I almost fell off my chair, and told her that was the same thing. She proceeded to tell me that 'not everyone is right for the dr., she doesn't do things hastily and her removals are very thorough; many people want them out quickly and we just don't do that'. They charge a $137 consultation fee, which is deducted from the surgery. I told her I liked what she had to say so far, but

didn't want to waste my money, so is there a way for me to connect w/ the surgeon prior to the appointment to see how she responds to my desires? I was encouraged to email her, that many patients do that to make sure we 'are a good fit'. I did email her so we shall see how she responds. The assistant was 'almost 100% sure she always uses drains". This one is a surgeon at a hospital. Wish me luck in obtaining my operating report from my PS -the guy I met with Saturday. Oh, the 2nd PS's assistant said to let me know if they gave me trouble getting the report, and they would intervene.

hi Patty - I know, I feel like 'it's too good to be true' - well, I started changing my Google search, and typed in prominent hospital names with "plastic surgeon" and "breast" and "reconstruction". Ones I had the hospital names I got more hits, and then looked into those names further. She does do traditional cosmetic surgery as well, and has her own practice, so I am soo curious what she says in the email. I don't want to be out $137 for no reason. And yes, she is in the Chicago area. I will keep you posted for sure. The Milwaukee one, Dr. Sanger, called me back today (well, his assistant) but we have played phone tag. Emerald,

This sounds very good. Please do let us know if you decide to go to this

surgeon...

I actually like the idea of a woman too, but that is just me.
