icing and antibiotics after explant

just wanted to compare my nutball ps's recommendations to everyones:1) how long were you all on antibiotics? They told me to stop today. (explant was friday)2) were you still told to ice? I am being told to.3) were you told to do stretching exercises, arms above head?4) were you told to pin the arms of your clothes to your shirt for 2 wks?5) did you dress your nipple area with an ointment? ( I have an ointment of Bactroban and Nitropaste which they mixed today, and then a petroleum dressing called Xeroflo, and then gauze with tape.) :)shannon

, I wasn't told to do any of the above. It almost seemed too

simple. Because of my past, with overuse of antibiotics before I had

reimplantation of the ureters and an obstruction removed that I had

from birth, I use Oil of Oregano for that purpose. There have been

scientific studies done that show it's more kick-butt than any anti-

biotic on the market, without the side effects.

Sunny :) xo

,

It is probably ok to quit the antibiotics. Often they do IV

antibiotics during surgery and then you get no more.

You can ice, it keeps inflammation down.

Stretching gently is ok if it does not hurt. Do not do it if it

hurts or you feel it stretching too much. Wait about 2 weeks to push

it at all.

Absolutely do not pin the arms of your clothes to your shirt. Just

be careful when you move.

Just my advice.
