Soapbox Moment (kind of...)

Adrienne...your point can be applied to all walks of life and it is very

true.

If people are treated like *mushrooms*, they never question anything and the

powers that be are left pretty much to their own devices. This has been the

case throughout human history. This is how governments and powers have

controlled the masses...we hear what they want us to hear...and that can be

a very long way from the truth!

It is only in recent years that a few people have started to question things

around them. These few remarkable people have been slowly opening our eyes

to what goes on in a lot of areas...and it is important that these questions

are asked everywhere - but it is the manner of asking that is most

important. When people feel threatened, they will defend

themselves...sometimes blindly. However, we must never stop asking the

questions.

For example...did you know that the worlds leading Pet food manufacturer,

Eukanuba, has it's own puppy mills? A TRUE reported case was how recently

they took several healthy puppies and removed one kidney from each. Then,

using drugs, they damaged the remaining kidney until the puppies were weak

and very poorly. Then they fed them on various samples of their pet food to

test the formulas...all so they could advertise and say this food would help

sick or convalescing puppies with kidney problems! Then, after testing, they

destroyed the puppies.

OK...so they are animals some might say...but they have rights, too. And

these people will tell you how much they care about animals...sorry...that

dog won't hunt! Needless to say, my dog never eats Eukanuba! (Actually, we

did a taste test on him and he personally prefers Royal Canin!)

There is so much going on behind closed doors that we will never ever be

privy to...I'm not saying ALL places do this kind of thing...but it is

important to know it goes on and it is important to ask questions. Knowing

WHO to ask is a different thing altogether...as is knowing WHO to believe.

At the end of the day, if you have found something that works for you then

there isn't much more to be said really. I have made no attempts to convert

anyone into my way of thinking - family or friends. They know I flush

regularly and they see the difference in me now to just a year ago...the

flush is important for ME...if they want to do it, I will support them every

step of the way, but if they don't then that's fine with me. I never suggest

it to anyone, but if anyone comments on how I look these days, I tell them

why...

When people have been treated like mushrooms for a very long time, you have

to remember that seeing the light can be blindingly painful. Aggressively

getting your point over will simply bring aggression back to you. If you

give people ammunition, be sure, they will use it. It will take many

generations to undo the harm caused by *evolution* but it will slowly filter

through society and one day we will be the majority. But confrontation will

only slow the process down...patience and time is all that is needed...along

with the acquisition of knowledge that we can then pass along to open ears

and open minds...

Yes...I'm an idealist! LOL!
