I know you are busy so I will try again. Below is a back and forth conversation between a Dr. and myself asking really aobut my friend Betty with the 40 year old implants. I want to respond but I want to do it with good knowledge. Like in the first letter below from him to me. He said, "So you would have the option of taking out the silicone implant and the capsule, IF THERE IS ONE, ……….. My question is – Isn't there always a capsule. She had them put in mid 1960's. Or do you think he is just trying to get out of taking it out so he can put back in a saline implant. Right now and I am trying to talk her out of it is that she is determined to put saline back in. Or maybe he is talking about the capsule possibly being desinigrated? Is that possible? She has had implants for 40 YEARS and does not think she can live without them. I am praying for a miracle quickly before her surgery in January. The Drs.( different PS she has seen for other opinions) keep telling her that the implants have nothing to do with how sick she is. Please let me know about the capsules. I am going to ask if I can be in the operating room when they are removed and try to get the old implants. The Dr. is a really nice guy. He does medical missions in other countries. Thanks so much, P. Lomax PLomax@... From: sheliaw9193@... It is less expensive to not replace the implant at all and the actual cost of a saline implant is less than the cost of a silicone implant. So you would have the option of taking out the silicone implant and the capsule, if there is one, or replacing the implants with silicone or saline. What is Dr. Bickett's attitude about not putting anything (salines) back in? Is it less expensive to not put Salines back in after removing silicone? (And never putting anything back?)
