Guest guest
Hi, I'm finally getting around to telling you all about my visit with the Laports. I'm behind on just about everything lately as in the midst of kitchen remodeling and the resultant household disruption. and Edna live just 5 hours north of me in Hamilton, MT and are most delightful, upbeat and positive. Our 3-1/2 hours together just whizzed by with nonstop chatter. The two things said that really stood out were his attitude toward his PLS and his absence of fatigue. He sees PLS is a 'blessing in disguise' as it's allows him to do many things he loves that he would otherwise probably never have gotten around to --- and guilt-free at that! --- things line reading, doing jigsaw puzzles, spending hours on the computer, staying up into the wee hours of the night and sleeping till noon, to name a few. I like that! The second was his insistence that he does NOT fatigue easily. Since fatigue slows me down the most, I guess I just assumed that was part of everyone's PLS. Wow...not so! He said he rides his exercise bike for 1 hour each afternoon and could keep going if he chose!!!? And I thought I was doing well to keep those peddles moving for 8 minutes! Makes me wonder about all you others out there? It was wonderful putting a face with a name and meeting a fellow PLSer (much worse off than myself I might add) who doesn't let his condition hold him back and enjoys each day to the fullest. Very impressive how he maneuvers and races that machine of his too! Thanks, and Edna, for the memorable visit. Dave and I will be up your way before the snow flies, you can count on -------Pam Circuit
