Of course the olive oil has other wonderful qualities, but for the purpose of the gallbladder cleanse, I'm pretty sure the main idea is that it's the fat that triggers the action of the gallbladder. So it would seem that another oil could be used. Although, flaxseed oil would be a much more costly alternative! At least around here it's more costly than olive oil. Okay, I think that's enough for my amateur speculation. I'm heading to bed! in health,
Guest guest
I read (perhaps on curezone.com, I forgot) that the reason apples disolve or partially disolve gallstones is that they contain malic acid. I'm looking for similiar information on why the olive oil works. Could other oil be used instead, such as flaxseed oil? Is it the monounsaturated fat that is the key? Also, what is it about lemons/grapefruits that works? Is it citric acid? Would limes work? Oranges? How does the olive oil and the lemon/grapefruit work together? Can the work apart? For instance, what would happen if you regularly consumed a lot of lemons (I eat them whole) and/or grapefruit? Would they help somewhat just like apple juice helps, or would they not do anything without the oil? Lastly, I exchanged some email a week ago with someone who did what she called a liver flush (the regular olive/lemon thing) and also a daily liver cleanse which consisted of 1T olive oil/1T lemon juice each morning. I don't remember reading about that here, on curezone, or anywhere else really. Are people here doing that? Besides the possibility of maintaining gallbladder/liver health after or between flushes, I'm curious what the difference would be between taking 1T olive oil/lemon juice every morning for 3 months as opposed to taking all of that all at once. Thanks!
