Guest guest
Good for you! If your nipples don't look right to you, you may want to consider using something other than the stuff she prepared for you . . . I'm sure the ladies here can tell you what they used. I'm concerned that you might be reacting to something in the preparation. Rogene Emerald Kittee <emeraldkittee@...> wrote: I called the ps's assistant again, and said I wanted my report today, and I got it. I am going Thursday for that - I had it done last Friday, so that would be 7 days. The nipples look really raw right now, my left one is really red and painful. I left a msg for another lymph massage person. There is a center in the hospital too, but I don't want to deal with running into her if I can help it at this point. Then, tonight, I will cancel all my appointments with them (they go til Jan!)
Guest guest
Rogene, I never thought of that! the dressing is a petroleum based sticky gauze - aren't people sensitive to petroleum? I am so grateful you mentioned this - I will bring all this to my dr on Thursday. Did anyone else out there cover that area in gauze as I am told to? > I called the ps's assistant again, and said I wanted my report > today, and I got it. Guest guest
Not every one is sensitive to petroleum. However, I became sensitive to it after getting implants. Something I'd suggest is cleaning with hydrogen perioxide, then covering with sterile gauze if you have any drainage. . . I don't remember covering with anything after the bandages came off.Emerald Kittee <emeraldkittee@...> wrote: Rogene, I never thought of that! the dressing is a petroleum based sticky gauze - aren't people sensitive to petroleum? Guest guest
, you could have problems if you should develop complications and have not followed up with your surgeon whether you care for her a whit or not. I'm just playing devil's advocate here (no, Sunny, no really), as a medical person. Please remember you have entered the medical system for care, and you certainly have rights within the system, but you are expected to communicate with your doctor. Not doing so can allow her to drop your care, and other doctors no matter how they may like you, etc., are not happy and usually refuse to pick up another doctor's case when that doctor is following usual procedures and the patient is the one who is not. I like you, I'd hate to see you get hurt here. No hydrogen peroxide on those delicate skin areas around the nipples. Period! > > I called the ps's assistant again, and said I wanted my > report > > today, and I got it. Guest guest
Thanks, ! Believe me, I have considered this - not 'cutting off my nose to spite my face' as my mom would say . What an awful position the ps has put me in. She barely would answer my medical questions the other day, and had a foot out the door, and was responding to my questions with major attitude and just 'yeah' or 'no' like I should already know the answer. Since she has so much anger towards me, I question her motives. And, I just can't fathom going there to get insulted, plus, I am questionning BIG time if she knows anything about explant. I am more fearful of her wrong direction and possibly her sabotaging me to " prove she was right " about me getting the implants out. My regular dr's office already said they will pick up where she left off. So, I will follow the ointment/gauze protocol for now, until my dr looks at it. I have a very good relationship with this guy, and have seen him for years. Do you think this sounds like a good plan? > > > I called the ps's assistant again, and said I wanted my > > report > > > today, and I got it. Guest guest
Right, I am using Bactroban (they mix it with Nitropaste?) and that petroleum gauze dressing, and then gauze. Guest guest
Hi , If I were in your shoes, I would hate to go back to see the witch, but I would. With your wonderful attitude, the old witch may soften and actually come to realize how you feel. You have paid for care and it sounds like she was going to be giving you excellent care, minus her attitude. If something from your explant was to go wrong, she wouldn't be willing to help you if you didn't follow up with her and you'd end up paying another doc to fix you up. So, at least for the time being until you know you are going to heal up well, I'd consider continuing to see her. You have all of the knowledgeable ladies here to help you so if your PS does try to sabotage your healing, they'll realize it and point it out to you. It's her medical license on the line, I doubt she'd do anything intentional. Just my thoughts... Kenda > Thanks, ! Guest guest
hi Kenda, I appreciate what you are saying for sure. In thinking of everything, though things like this come to mind - I'd have to remember to take my bra off while I am at work, before I leave for appointments, so the 'marks' disappear otherwise she will 'yell' at me. I'd have to have the creepy/painful feeling of no support, then find a way to put it back on after the appointment - it's just too silly. I will have to lie constantly about what I am doing. In light of the fact too that she mentioned that she gave her last explant an underwire bra (her stories change) ! and she claims it was the woman's fault for " letting it ride up " - instead of it being her fault for giving a new explant patient a hard wire to put next to her vulnerable flesh! That doesn't sound like she knew what she was doing. She literally doesn't seem to remember what she tells me from one day to the next now. First, she told me a soft jersey bra would be what I need. When I reminded her of that, she said 'no, you need to wear nothing'; Then it was camis, then it was back to nothing. She also made a comment about the 'handful' of women who came to her wanting them out. This TOTALLY differed with what she told me initially and what her staff told me. I feel that the emotional toll from going there constantly would wear on me. I truly believe now she has no clue what she is doing. Taking them out, yes, she was skilled, but from here on out, she is guessing. She doesn't know about 'fluffing out' or having the tissue supported. I have decided to go with my gut instinct on this, and I will tell her why I am not coming back. Also, she made mention of this last woman 'getting away from her' - I have to believe that this woman was treated poorly as well. I have also found out she has testified in favor of silicone implants - I don't want to say too much to reveal her identity - but she is so far from being on our side. She really hates Melmed, (the man who gives 'misinfomration' as it was told as I was wheeled off to surgery) and I represent that thinking. She really thought I'd change my mind, that is why she became caring before I got them out. Plus, she took my money, now she can reveal how she really feels I have learned alot more about her involvement in this silicone saga from a staff member, and she is probably the worst of the worst. We learn, hu! > >>>> I called the ps's assistant again, and said I wanted > > my > >>> report > >>>> today, and I got it. Guest guest
, Darling shannon, I have to agree with you, she sounds like she might lie about anything, it also sounds like she is trying to confuse you. Telling you different things each time you ask, she doesn't want the best for you. Just by how she is treating you, I would report her, it is awful that she is saying all of this. If your regular doctor is going to be monitoring you I think I would jump at that. Just my opinion, I don't trust her!!! Guest guest
, it does sound as if you're being careful in your planning. :-) I get into the role of 'mum' pretty easily, and all I want is for you not to experience problems with this fairly complex surgical procedure. I don't want to be in charge of your care, that's for your physician, even if she is a 'witch!' It sounds as if the PS uses her 'own' concoction to dress the wounds, the nitroglycerin must be her little 'secret' success ingredient, it would dilate the blood vessels, making for good blood supply to the area, for good healing. It could make for some 'pinkness' in the area because of increased blood flow. You could probably use another safe ointment instead without any harm, Polysporin would be all right. Since you're hooked up with your regular doctor, and still have option to stick with Wicked Witch, <grin> I guess you're in the 'cat-bird seat.' Meaning you're in control, but not shooting yourself in the foot either! Take good care, sweetie,
Guest guest
Dear Mum ! You are so smart, yes, it is all pink! and that is why, getting the blood vessels dialated, etc. Thanks for explaining that. I appreciate the concern They are looking much better already today. The massage made a difference in how I look and feel. xo --- In , Crocker <dwcrn@...> wrote: > > , it does sound as if you're being careful in your planning. :-) > I get into the role of 'mum' pretty easily, and all I want is for you not > to experience problems with this fairly complex surgical procedure. Guest guest
, hooray for you. I think you just made a very healthy choice. If I were you, I'd report her nasty abuse. Other women will continue to suffer, if no-one stops her. I'm proud of you for taking a stand and doing something that's going to be good for you. Guest guest
I want to say that I have not followed all of this conversation so if I missed something, forgive me... I would not 'report' a doctor who has not seriously violated professional ethics or standard of care. This sounds more like a disagreement. There are, unfortunately, too many plastic surgeons who want nothing to do with removing implants - only putting them in. This does create a problem for women as we all know. > > > > > I called the ps's assistant again, and said I > wanted > > my > > > > report > > > > > today, and I got it. Guest guest
Hi Molly, in a nutshell she insulted me and insinuated I am now ugly, and made similiar comments as I was taken to surgery. While it may not constitute a formal 'report' - a leter to the hospital administrators may make her eat some humble pie at the very least. > > > > > > I called the ps's assistant again, and said I > > wanted > > > my > > > > > report > > > > > > today, and I got it.
