I spoke with an anesthesiologist the other day on an L & D round. I asked

him about Raplon (Racuronium, I believe). He stated that he didn't use it

anymore because the general consensus among his peers is that it tends to

cause bronchospasm and tachycardia, at least more often than sux. Its big

promise was that it wouldn't have the Potassium shift caused by Sux and

might be more usable for known renal failure, metabolic MI, etc patients

that you have to consciously sedate.

That said, what research have you done so far on each med? I'd recommend

going to a search engine and looking up each medicine, and seeing what comes

up. There's a lot of information out there.

does any body have information on a med called Raplon, i would also

like to find toatl information on succinycholine and etomodate. if

someone has this info would/could you please send it my way. what meds

do you recommend to keep your pt sedated after you have successfully

intubated and with assit with assist of vesed, suxx, or norcuron. what

are your thoughts and concerns?
