Guest guest
Is it possible for tenosynovitis to cause my ankle to lock, during the transition from plantar flexion to dorsi flexion while walking? Could it also be causing my ankle to grind, while I'm walking? My V.A. primary care doctor seems to believe that ALL of my ankle problems - the locking, grinding, giving out, instability and frequent sprains - are solely caused by the tenosynovitis of the peroneus longus tendon. My doctor also believes that my ankle brace is responsible for the large crack/groove that can be felt on my lateral malleolus, never mind that this crack/groove is consistent with the location of a Weber A fracture. When I seek a second opinion evaluation of my right ankle, be it with another doctor at the Indianapolis VAMC, or with a different VAMC close to me, I will be insisting that I see a foot and ankle specialist. If at the Indianapolis VAMC, I will be looking to see the foot and ankle specialist that examined me back in 2006, since he obviously saw something in the x-rays he ordered, or he wouldn't have been telling me about lateral ligament reconstruction surgery. I may end up having to have yet another Orthopedics Clinic new evaluation, since it'll be more than six months since my last visit, but no matter I will be insisting on seeing the foot and ankle specialist. I'll just keep questioning the doctors about how I can go from " lateral ligament reconstruction " (foot and ankle specialist) and " nothing we can do for you, until the instability in your ankle is fixed " (evaluating physical therapist) to " absolutely nothing wrong with your ankle, " in spite of all of the symptoms I experience with my ankle. It's probably time for me to " fire " my current primary health care doctor, anyway, since my complaint of also experiencing right knee problems pretty much fell on deaf ears, in their efforts to " poo-poo " away my ankle problems. On Sunday (13 July, and the day before my V.A. checkup appointment) at work, my right knee nearly gave out on me, with my right knee moving laterally with a step. Since I brace my knee, when at work, that's probably what kept me from going down, when my knee moved laterally. Matt
