Jeanne Ann,

Weighing the pros and cons of prednisone use, I

personally come out against it--for me.

When I first took it the objective was to halt the

progression of transverse myolitis.

Well...I didn't really have transverse myolitis. So

the primary objective failed. But there were positive

effects--walking better, feeling fabulous, needing

little sleep.

But coming off the stuff was so bad, that I would

never do it again if the only positive was the

temporary cessation of PLS sysmptoms and euphoria. (I

felt VERY down, I felt my walking was horrible, and I

was exhausted--probably because of 10 days of little

sleep.)

Then, add in the dangers of steroid use in general,

and I come out against another round of

Prednisone--for me.
