(just kidding). No I don't think the castor oil at the health food store is any different from that from the drug store. At least that's the kind I use (from the drug store). Some people suggest heating the whole thing (cloth and oil) in the microwave, but I'm weaning myself off use of the microwave (just use it for popcorn now!!), so I just rely on the heating pad. Of course I guess there are those out there who would suggest that heating pads aren't healthy either! Anyway...I hope some of this is helpful. It's late and I'm a little punchy from the hour and an emotional evening, so please bear with any silliness contained herein. in health, humor and exhaustion.... Guest guest
Y'all mentioned about getting the castor oil packs at the health food store. Is the Castor Oil at a regular drug store the same kind???? And I can use my own cloth? Or is the health food store kind cold pressed or something? Guest guest
Mel, you might be able to tape a castor oil pack on your neck under your chin---the sores are under your tongue, right? A castor Oil compress or poultice will draw toxins so you'd want to position it where it could draw as easy as possible. Virginia, perhaps you would tell Mel--and me--how you make your packs and how you get them to stay on without leaking oil alll over the place. So pleased with your news. SaraLou Re: [ ] Castor oil packs and some good news!!! While we're on to these Castor oil packs...Would one fit in the mouth..What size are they? Or can you make them any size? I'd love to try it at night to see what affect it has..What's the Chinese person's name and address..? Does he know about TORTURE???.. melville.. ----- Original Message -----
Guest guest
Hi Saralou, I took a scrap of cotton flannel cloth and folded so it was four layers. Then saturated it with castor oil. It is a little messy- my pyjamas are a bit oily, but oh well. I lay the flannel on my neck at the site of the tumor, then put on a hot water bottle wrapped in a small towel . I heat the water for my bottle in the microwave to almost boiling. It lasts much longer than if I fill it from the sink. Guest guest
Hi Virginia, the first thing I would suggest a cancerpatient is to throw the microwawe in the garbage .......... pelcka
Guest guest
Pelcka & Virginia I agree that the microwave should be thrown out. I recall a story where a woman in surgery began bleeding more that was expected and more than they had warmed blood for. So a nurse in a hurry to warm some more blood quickly, put the blood in a microwave. The woman died and the medical team could not understand why she had died because they had brought the blood crisis under control and she had come away from the surgery without any concern that she would die. They decided to investigate and found that the only reason she could have died was because of warming the blood for transfusion in the microwave. This story tells me that the microwave may have turned the blood in a non-blood. If that is true, then is it possible that the microwave turns food into non-food? I wouldn't want to chance it. Guest guest
I personally don't own one. I'm staying in my Mom's house right now, and i use her's to heat the hot water that goes into the hot water bottle because it's not quite hot enough coming out of the faucet, and it takes too long to boil it in the kettle. BUt I don't consume anything heated inthe microwave, no way.
