Guest guest
Hello everyone! Hope ya'll are having a good Thanksgiving! Well, I have a problem, and wanted everyone's opinion on what I should do. Some of you may remember me posting about a white, pus looking discharge coming from my left nipple that I had about a week BEFORE I had my explant on September 26th. I had the same discharge about 2 more times a week AFTER my surgery too. Went to my Gyno, who did a Prolactive level and a hormone level. Both came back completely normal. For nearly 2 months, I had no more discharge. Last week or so, the discharge came back, and now it is yellow, brown, and bloody. I cannot squeeze the discharge out, but it is in my bra when I wake up every day. I panicked and went back to my Gyno, who examined my breasts and said that he could not tell if I had a lump or not because I have the most Fiborcystic breasts that he has seen in a long time! Very bad! He said that he thinks it's a Hematoma (sp?) from my surgery, even though I had a white discharge BEFORE my surgery. He wants me to get an MRI to be on the safe side, since I take large amounts of estrogen every day, and my insurance has approved it, but here's the problem..... The clinic that does the MRI's has a policy that they refuse to bend....they require a Mammogram before any MRI. Dr. Melmed said that I CANNOT have a mammogram before March, or it will ruin my lift, plus I would be too sore. I am scheduled for my yearly mammogram in the middle of March, but my insurance will cover one in December. Dr. Melmed said that he did not see any cancer in me when he did my surgery 2 months ago, but this daily nipple discharge is really scaring me! My mother had breast cancer at my age now! So what do you girls think? Should I get the Mammogram in December, and ruin my lift, and experience a lot of pain in the meantime, since my breasts are very sore due to the Fibrocystic breast disease? It would surely ease my mind about cancer! Or should I listen to what Dr. Melmed said about the fact that he did not see any cancer in me when he did my surgery? Should I go ahead and get the mammogram so I can get the MRI, and ruin my lift that I spent so much money on?!! I don't know what to do......I just want to know what is causing the bloody discharge in my bra every night.
