Sunny, that is a fascinating take on this. The more I didn't show

depression (which she promised I would) the more nasty she became.

When I didn't show anger at her insults and just remained calm, it

irritated her further. I also thought she started to resent my

knowing so much about it and the lingo we use here. I think you are

right, any way you slice it, my centeredness was only going to bring

out her worst. I have had this happen before with very bitter

people. I always say " my mother taught me manners, and my father

taught me when not to use them " - in other words, I choose my

battles, but sometimes one has to get their Irish up lol! thanks for

your 25 cents. (now is that in Canadian money?)

, glad to hear you see that side. Love has many sides and

faces. Sometimes if we love our " enemies " , that means we don't allow

them to abuse us...it's only helping them to stop doing something

they don't generally want to be doing anyway. When we stand up to

them, it's a loving thing. Anything else is enabling, IMHO. I've had

several people come back to me and say, " thanks for calling me on

that, I needed it. " So have I done that with others.

It was hard for me to see life that way in the past. I was taught

not to make waves, no matter what. Well, it doesn't work for me

anymore. Making waves brings about changes. Sometimes our egos

don't like to hear the truth. I embrace the truth about me, nowadays

and welcome spiritual, constructive critique from those I trust &

love. We all have a blind side that we cannot see from, or around.

That's why us humans are all here together -- to help one another,

right?

And, by the way, it WAS an American quarter...worth a tad more, I

hear! LOL
