Guest guest
But Joanne, this study compared low fat diets to low carb diets only for clinically obese people. Both diets, according to the results, were equal at helping obese people lose weight. The only difference was in the HDL, with the low carb group faring better. But the question is: Was the result from lowering carbohydrate intake (and note that all the foods they show in the story--with the exception of the chicken pieces in the salad--are primarily carbohydrate) OR because restricting fats is unhealthy? That is, don't humans need to eat good fats in order to have healthy hearts? Just a thought-- JMc > > http://abcnews.go.com/Health/video/low-carb-low-fat-diet-heart-health-carbohytra\ tes-healthier-good-choloesterol-11335516 > > PS My cholestrol is 3.3 and my good cholestrol is 0.8 > > My husband and father have both come off their statin tablets and have found similar results with the diet > > They say they do not understand this.
