Perhaps they're trying to force surgeons to follow their patients, rather than forget them!Emerald Kittee <emeraldkittee@...> wrote: Article about silicone implants coming back. I wasn't aware that the implant manufactures are required to 'recruit' 43,000 women for a 10 year study. Oh geez, they'll be lining up for that, and not knowing what they are getting into. http://www.usnews.com/usnews/health/articles/061126/4implant.htm

I was in a store the other day and overheard two sales girls having a conversation about they couldn't believe the FDA approved silicone implants. I ended up joining in the conversation, and it turned out one of the girls, only 21 years old, got silicone implants a year or two ago as part of a study and has already had another surgery and is looking at getting them out. She agreed women are being lied to. I briefly told her I got sick from saline implants, and I didn't want to scare her, but she should be sure to get them taken out properly. Any chance you can get in touch with this young lady? She needs to send in a MedWatch report. Chances of her surgeon reporting are slim. At one time, reports were required - but after years of non-compliance, they made it optional!
