Guest guest
Thanks so much Lynda. I felt pretty much as you did. Do you think a nurse practioner is appropriate to see in my case? That is who my dr. had me schedule with - do you think I should see him instead? > > >hi all, > > > >I have been repeatedly contacted by my ps's office - I will relay > >THAT in another post, as I would first love your opinion on this > >medical info. Guest guest
You know, that was my first thought, too - usually the stitches come out in a week or less. Guest guest
I have NEVER heard of stitches being left in for 4 weeks, I have heard of them being left in for 10 days to 14 days. I would not rub an incision to be sure it scabs. Often we hear that you leave the tape on until it falls off. Not everyone does this. I have NEVER heard of leaving it on for 6-8 weeks. The nitro paste is to return the feeling to the breast area, I think. It sure would give the doctor a great deal of control over your life to have to do all that, wouldn't it???? For such a long time????? Most doctors do not make such long-term demands on incisions. Check with your GP. Guest guest
I have had nurse practitioners that were far superior in their care than the doctor was. Guest guest
, Dr. Kolb, if I remember right. I would put ointment on lightly, cover with tape once per day. The stitches needed to come out after I think either one or two weeks, not four. If you are in doubt for sure go get second opinion on the stitches issue. Leaving tape on until it falls off, I don't think is good idea. Putting to much ointment is not good for healing either, keeps it raw. You want it to scab up, if it scabs up around your stitches, OUCH!!!!!!!!! Can I ask did you get drains? Did your doctor send your implants off for testing? Saline Implants? I forget one of my symptoms, sorry. Donna
Guest guest
, I am sorry I just have to chime in here, I have never heard of srubbing an incision with force, Remember I told you about the hibiclense? I just lightly wash with that it is for after surgery washing. No scrubbing. I cant believe they would tell you that. It is a sensitive area and you want it to heal nice be gentle with your incisions, I do agree about it being too moist though both my husband and I have had that recently sometimes one area dries out better than another. Guest guest
Quite a few women are sensitive to medical tape. You may not know until you end up with blisters . . . using a sterile pad held in place by your sports bra would be safer . . . and yes, (dispite what said) you can wash the aread with hydrogen peroxide - do use the medical grade, a 3% solution. may have thought I meant the stronger type used for hair coloring. I wasn't clear on that. Please do be gentle with yourself! My surgeon recommended it after my recent breast procedures. Rogene
Guest guest
Hi Donna, Yes I had drains for several days and I am not swelling too much - just a bit on one side according to the lymph drainage massage person. He said it's not alot at all. Thanks for the tips My dr's office is checking on me tomrrow, so I am interested to see what they say. One side looks nearly healed, and the other is raw and the incisions deeper. No, I didn't have my implants sent in. I would recommend it to everyone, of course, but I didn't have a dime left and wanted these things out. Thanks, Rogene, too - because that sticky tape does seem like it would irritate my skin. I've been using that Hibiclens stuff and it's been very gentle on me.I will go along with what my dr's office says next. Well, I mean, I'll report it here first and see what you all say!! Of course!! > > , > > Dr. Kolb, if I remember right. I would put ointment on lightly, cover with > tape once per day. Guest guest
Hi Terri! glad you chimed in - I must thank you for the Hibiclens recommendation - I have been using it since the day you mentioned it. Anyhow, I was really freshly explanted that day, wandering around the aisles thinking 'where the heck is it' - I was so grateful you told me it was a blue bottle, as I found it quickly once I remembered that. It is very gentle! > > > > hi all, > > > > I have been repeatedly contacted by my ps's office - I will relay > > THAT in another post, as I would first love your opinion on this > > medical info.
