Hi Sunny: Thanks for your kind words. Yes, I feel this site saved my life, too. Dr. Blais referred to my experiences as my "implant misadventures." I try not to dwell on it and blame myself for trying to keep my implants so long when it was obvious my body didn't want them. I had double lumen for about 6 years and saline for 4, so four of those surgeries were implants and explants and three were to remove scar tissue; the next one will be to remove fibrocystic lumps that probably contain junk and need to be biopsied. I don't feel that bad about it, though, as I'm so much healthier than I was two years ago and hope this surgery will get rid of the cause of my few remaining symptoms. Kate, I'm really glad you're on the road to recovery. Isn't it

wonderful that we can help other women by sharing our stories! I'm

just glad to be alive....my grandchildren went through a stressful

time watching their granny suffer so long, not knowing why.

Please do not blame yourself for having faulty breast implants. I played the blaming game for many years, but now I have moved forward. We cannot go back, we must move forward. You have had enough surgery; however, if you still have garbage in your body it should be removed. I wish that I had been cleaned out properly when my ruptured implants were removed. It is too late for me because I cannot be anesthetized due to respiratory problems. My implants were thrown into the garbage, even though I had written a letter to the plastic surgeon to please keep them for research purposes. This was the beginning of the abuse that I had to take from many doctors. This is when I called Dr. Guidoin at Laval University, and he wrote to the hospital to get the tissue that they must keep by law. Then Dr. Blais got involved, but for me it was too late. We will never know what the doctors found, but with the tissue slides we know that I had the old silicone, and the second set were the polyurethane.
