Curiosity stimulates us to do more research. The more we know the more empowered we are. Since I am not a chemist by any means, nor a doctor, or a pharmacist I am not sure how to debate the silicon vs. silicone hypersensitive problem. Perhaps that would be better left to Dr Shanklin. When he tested us for "silicon" hypersensitivity and we tested positive, I was told to stay away from silicon dioxide. If I take it through medications, which go straight into the blood stream, I get hot spots rashes, flu like symtoms, bursitis, fibromyalgia, swollen joints, stomach problems, fatigue and so forth.During the time that my sons born of implants were being treated for chronic ususual medical problems with medications containing silicon dioxide they were quite ill. They were sick for over 4 years. Once I removed the medications that my sons were taking that contained silicon dioxide their health improved dramatically. A medication with silicone in it sent my oldest son to the emergency room with a class five allergic reaction. My boys have been well for 11 years now. What I have learned is that a silicone medication such as Ceclor can set off a very noticeable reaction where as the silicon dioxide stimulates several different more mild allergic reactions that mimick other undiagnosible illnesses.Another thing I have found is that if I do take a medication with silicon dioxide it takes a couple of weeks before the swelling in my joints goes away. That's the reason I continue to reach out to the support groups to share this information in hopes that it may help someone else. Because of the dramtic improvement in our health, and in our health care since learning of our silicon hypersensitivty, I feeled complelled to share what I have experianced. If silicone is a compound of silicon, then doesn't that mean that there is silicon in silicone?Lana_________________________________________________________________Stay up-to-date with your friends through the Windows Live Spaces friends list. http://clk.atdmt.com/MSN/go/msnnkwsp0070000001msn/direct/01/?href=http://spaces.live.com/spacesapi.aspx?wx_action=create & wx_url=/friends.aspx & mk
