Guest guest
Leyna, From what I've seen posted on here, the scent and chemical sensitivities are part of this as well for most of us. Same as you're saying to a T... Plus, things like -I can smell cig smoke if someone in the car in front of us is smoking -even if we aren't stopped. Or, I can't go around people who smoke -even if they aren't smoking. If a smoker walks past me in a store, it's awful... Nothing nauseates me faster smell wise. Perfume is a big one for me, too. I can't wear it at all, so I stick with light body mists in fruity, citrus, and cake scents... and I won't even get started on the dog we had. It makes it hard to go around other people, because if they smell like anything at all -it kills me. Brig
Guest guest
Do I ever understand!!!. .. By the time I had my implants out, my entire life was controlled by these sensitivities. .. Still I didn't make the connection to my implants, or they would have been out within months! . . . It wasn't just the misery of the smells, but the social problems that came with it. People simply cannot understand unless they've been there. Thankfully, this is all but gone. It takes a very strong exposure to trigger a reaction now. And . . .speaking of depression, exposures to sensitive products was a trigger to depression. Guest guest
Brig, Oh God-I forgot about the perfume issue! UGH! If someone puts a tiny amount of perfume on, to me it's like they poured a whole bottle over themselves! Most of it makes me start sneezing and watery, runny eyes too.KissofSadness@... wrote: Leyna, From what I've seen posted on here, the scent and chemical sensitivities are part of this as well for most of us. Guest guest
I could not wear any perfume, or be around it in the last few years before my explant. I wonder if I could now? I switched to natural oils, and rather enjoyed combining them with grapeseed oil, etc. > > Leyna, > > From what I've seen posted on here, the scent and chemical sensitivities are part of this as well for most of us. Guest guest
Molly . . . You could probably tolerate them better now . . . but why add any toxins to your life? . . . Natural scents are safer. When I was having so much trouble with MCS, I was visited my brother . . . My sister-in-law wanted to go in a shop that specialized in natural scents. . . I was afraid I'd react . . . but didn't want to say anything, so I went it . . . NO reaction! . . . That's when I knew it was the synthetic scents that were the problem. Another thing to consider is that there are a lot of people who react to scents the way I did. Wearing these scents can make THEM sick . . . I refuse to wear them. Guest guest
Ok, it said about how sense of smell is related to adrenal exhaustion....but what about those of us whose adrenal glands are fine? I've had mine checked twice in the last year, and both times they were perfectly normal......strange, because I figured mine would be WHACKED. lolTricia Trish <glory2glory1401@...> wrote: Brig, I just posted an article regarding the sense of smell and how it is related to adrenal exhaustion....please check into it. Guest guest
Patty . . . thanks for the link . . . It confirms what I suspected, that an extreme sensitivity to smell is part of a survival mechanism. . . I found it protective . . . even if uncomfortable . . . I told me when something was present that would make me sick and gave me time to get away . . . After getting my implants out and detoxing, this extreme sensitivty gradually faded away. Guest guest
Leyna, Who did you have your adrenals checked by? Was it a medical doctor or a naturopath? They seem to differ when it comes to test results. A medical doctor may think some tests apear "normal" and the naturopath would disagree.Leyna <leyna1964@...> wrote: Ok, it said about how sense of smell is related to adrenal exhaustion....but what about those of us whose adrenal glands are fine? Guest guest
Hmmm, that may be part of the trouble! Alot of endocrinologists go by the numbers, but numbers do not always tell the correct story. But you have to do what you are comfortable with. Guest guest
That's great to know that it can get better. I think the adrenals are quite sensitive to toxicity, and being glands, take a long time to recover, if at all. PattyRogene S <saxony01@...> wrote: Patty . . . thanks for the link . . . Guest guest
When I had all my blood tests done, my MD's all said, I was in "normal range". My kinesiologist asked to see all my test results, and he disagreed with my doctors. He explained that what doctors beleive to be normal range changes according to percentages, which change often. He also said that what is considered normal today, was considered abnormal decades ago. Leyna <leyna1964@...> wrote: It was my Endocronologist, who treats my thyroid and diabetes. Guest guest
My adrenals are very weak, yet my sensitivity to smell is nearly gone and it was one extreme. In my case, I think it was liver toxicity that caused my sensitivity. Kenda > That's great to know that it can get better.
