Guest guest
Dearest Friends: I was wondering if it would be safe for me to have my teeth whitened? My teeth are not as white as I would like them to be, but with all the problems that I have I was wondering if you think that this would be safe for me. My dentist has told me that my teeth are in such great condition for my age. He should be the person to ask. I will let you all know what he thinks. Thank you...love to all....Lea ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`
Guest guest
Hi Dear Lea, I have had my teeth whitened several years ago, using a product that my holistic dentist recommended. I am not so sure that I would whiten my teeth very often anymore, but the product he used was carbamide peroxide. It is similar to hydrogen peroxide, so it should be fairly safe. Our own bodies make hydrogen peroxide, so it cannot make you sicker. My teeth ended up incredibly white. I think I blinded a few people when I smiled. : ) But my teeth also became more sensitive for a short period of time. I have also, since then, lost 2 back molars. I had terrible tooth pain that resulted in 2 root canals and of course, the root canals did not work for me and I ended up losing the teeth. I have no idea if the teeth whitening was related in any way, but I sure wish I had all of my teeth back. I am still suffering from occasionally zings of pain in some of my teeth, so I am afraid for the future and what it means for my teeth. I was always so proud of my teeth and how little decay I suffered. Now I am fearful that more teeth may be lost in the future if I am not careful. One thing I did want to say....the dentist that removed my molars told me NEVER to use hydrogen peroxide on my teeth. He said something about fungus taking over in the crevices? I didn't follow up with that, but I thought that was interesting? Have a beautiful day Lea! Guest guest
Thank you darling Patty: My dentist agreed to do the whitening, but to watch for any symptoms. They did a mould of my teeth, but before the nurse put it in my mouth. I asked if it was silicone...she said no. Next week I have to go in and they will teach me how to do this procedure. I hope that it stops my tongue from burning, but it might make it burn more! I do not want to blind anyone, I just want whiter teeth. Sorry to hear that you are having other problems with your teeth, but my dentist told me that it would not cause my teeth to fall out. He did an x-ray of my teeth and I have no cavities. always has to have fillings because he is a cookie monster. I use hydrogen peroxide every day on my tooth brush, and he told me that if I had not reacted to this, I should be okay. Sending love always...........Lea ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~` Teeth Whitening, is it safe: Dearest Friends: I was wondering if it would be safe for me to have my teeth whitened? Guest guest
That is funny, as my dentist gave me a mouthwash called Peroxy-Wash (something like that).
