had all the worry that goes with this and stopped doing it beause of my worries,

I tried to just do low carb, and did OKish, but as soon as I ovulated all the

usual stuff returned

>

>The other problem I had with the Atkins diet was I could not figure out what

would be a good supplement regime for me. I was doing OK but not great, good

really, not bad anyway, low carbing but was struggling a lot, regarding was I

getting enough nutrition. A friend here showed me Bees diet. And I decided to

try no carbing, with her all meat and fat diet. I could not beleive the progress

I made. It was like heaven for me

ketosis was OK, but as I went higher my addition returned, and my behaviour and

feelings started to become obessional and depressing. I cut back again and found

I felt normal and healing improved.  but i still was not sure this was right. I

know how crazy that sounds and now it seems like insanity, i was doing great but

did not trust it, but that was because of stuff in my past and so on. I am a

natural worrier

adjust, for me it was 4 months or so. For that time I was aching for my carb

life, eventually my body became efficient with ketones and now runs very

effectively on ketones. You might want to give s work some consideration

go, or you might feel better simply low carbing with the optimal diet allowance.

some go half way and eat between 30g to 40g of carbs

>

>I cannot decide for you. All i can say is that trying ketosis out for a few

days might help you with your decision. There are ketostix at amazon which will

help you know if you are in ketosis and you could consider your symptoms. Or you

could begin with the Optimal diet and later try ketosis for a few days and see

how you feel about it.

agree with ketosis but not always the best food and the Epilepsy diet is

definately not the best foods

>2) if you eat low carb all of the time, your body becomes so efficient at

burning ketones for fuel that you won't actually test as being in ketosis after

a period of time (so how do you do it then?)

>3) You will lost muscle tone from long-term ketosis

>4) Athletes should rotate between ketosis and carb-loading to prevent muscle

loss & to provide endurance

>5) There are negative health effects from ketosis that must be monitored (this

is reported in ketogenic diet literature)

>I know you have been researching this info for years, so I'd love to hear your

responses. My cousin fought the keto diet for her daughter's intractable

epilepsy for over 10 years. She finally rolled up her sleeves and tried it and

it was the best thing they ever did -- but they are closely monitored for

" adverse health effects. " My kids and I do much better off the starchy carbs,

but I am not sure we have ever been in ketosis for any length of time.
