Guest guest
Lea, I'm so sorry you're feeling stressed and sad. It's always fun to decorate with someone, isn't it? The cats....oh, that reminds me of & 's 2 kittens a couple of years ago. They literally lived in the Christmas tree for 2 weeks! They were small and light enough to climb right up the branches without doing too much damage. just let them play! We had alot of laughs over the Christmas holidays with those two - Miracle & Mittens. Hope that puts a smile on your face. Keep on keeping on, girl. You definitely are not a forgotten woman here, and I'm sure not with your family. Sometimes we let life get so busy that we neglect to notice and comment on the little things, don't you agree? I love you lots, and lots of blessings and angels coming your way! Sunny > > Sandy, this is beautiful. This morning I was crying because my is under a lot of stress. He has so much work to do for the university, and it must be done before his boss comes next week-end. This causes me so much stress because this will be our first Christmas that we will be free from litigation. It would be wonderful if he could take part in preparing for Christmas, but I must do all the decorating alone, the kitties are helping. As you all know, it takes us more time to do all of the things that must be done on special holidays. > > Last year, I worked for three weeks and to make our home beautiful, and not one of our children saw the results...this made me sad. My wish is that these devices will not destroy another generation of women. Sorry for dumping on you; however, the poem that you sent out was so appropiate for me this morning. Guest guest
Lea, We put up our tree last night and I always love it. It is a live Norfolk Pine in a large pot-- we've used it for four years, but this will be the last one, as it is now twelve feet tall and we can barely get it into the house. It looks like a prehistoric fern-- kind of unusual for a Christmas tree, but beautiful nonetheless. My last child at home loves to lay down on the floor for hours under the tree. She does all her schoolwork next to it. It gives her a sense of hope, I think. I am always sad when we put it outside again on Jan 1, but that is what makes it special! I am not a big lover of Winter(I am not good with the cold), but our holiday rituals make it special. We celebrate Soltice, and have a big party. We light the whole house with hundreds of candles-- no electric lights. At some point during the night, a strange character named Darkness comes out and stumbles around the house, bumping into people. He symbolizes the confusion and lack of hope people can have. Then a beautiful procession of girls come out, all in white, wearing wreathes lit with candles on their heads, like Santa Lucia. They carry the yule log cake, and star cookies, which they serve to everyone. It is a beautiful, touching sight-- I think everyone loves this moment the best, the bringing of light and hope. Then we all ring bells, and talk about what light we have in our lives. People also bring money which we collect and give to local charities. Later on Christmas Eve we go to Midnight Mass. We are not Christians, but we recognise the universal human desire for compassion and goodness and we value the great role models for this throughout history. Jesus is definitely a star. This group is, to me, a manifestation of that human goodness. This year the Santa Lucias will be teenage boys! My daughter's friends want to do it. They all have long hair, and it will be a sight. Hope your Winter Holidays are warm and hopeful! Love, Bindi Why Do Woman Cry ???>> >> >> >> Just Remember Your Beauty Was Always There Before The Implants>> >> Why Women Cry? Guest guest
Bindi - your description is breathtaking! How moving and fun! I love different customs at the holidays. I just order Glogg mixes for a relative. And the only time I really enjoy watching TV is around the holidays - just about anything with a Christmas theme and I 'll watch it. Even the commercials Lea - how did your teeth cleaning go?? > > Lea, > We put up our tree last night and I always love it. Guest guest
Hi Lea, Your sparkle lips is a cute story! Last night I was telling my 17-year old son how awful it is that no one helps me decorate, that they should all pitch in. He informed that no one will help me because I am too picky and want everything just right. He's right. How sad that it isn't fun to decorate because I'm so picky.
