Guest guest
hi all, I have been repeatedly contacted by my ps's office - I will relay THAT in another post, as I would first love your opinion on this medical info. I spoke to her assistant briefly and this is what I was told their procedure for my healing would be: 1) Put the bactroban and nitro paste on incisions, cover with petroleum " zeroform " dressing, then cover with gauze and tape for 4 days, changed twice a day (i have been doing this - today would be last day) 2) Once the incisions look like they are scabbing, cover with medical tape and do not change tape until the tape is ready to fall off. 3) I relayed that the left nipple incision is still pink and not scabbing; she surmised I am using too much ointment creating too much moisture. She said I should put bactroban (NO nitropaste) on it and cover with gauze only now. Once it scabs, cover with medical tape. 4) rub the incisions with force so they scab when you wash. 5) medical tape should cover incisions for 6-8 wks. 6) I asked why they have stitches in for 4 wks - she said that is their procedure for ALL surgeries - to make sure incision is truly healed. 7) of course, she thought it was very scary I was seeing my regular doctor currently. 8) use those scar ointments after 8 wks to fade scar. What do you think of this? I have an apt. to see the nurse practioner on Tuesday - should I switch and make sure I see my dr? He wouldn't have my stitches removed if it wasn't time. Thanks!!
