Guest guest
I know that we have been over everyone's protocol for RSI but I am looking for some info on the use of vecuronium. The protocol that my service carries is: 1mg/kg of Lidocaine in head injury followed by 2mg versed (unless deeply unconscious) wait 1 - 2 minutes, then defasciculating dose of Succ's. 0.1mg/kg 60 sec's. paralyzing dose of Succ's 1.5 mg/kg 60 sec's. intubate, after intubation is confirmed administer 0.1mg/kg Vecuronium. My question is how do other services use Vecuronium I have heard of it used as a fasciculating dose prior to Succ's. What are the pros and cons to using it in this manner? Also I read that Lidocaine may inherence the effects of Vec. does anyone know how and to what extent, and finally how long does Vecuronium keep one paralyzed. I have had a hard time finding info on Vecuronium I do not know if I am looking in the wrong places or what but if there is a good web sight anyone knows of that I can find this info for myself I would be more then happy to research it myself. Thanks Frieze P.S. You can E-mail me direct if you want at kevfri@... or just answer on the list.
