With plants the nutrients have to be converted into a form the body can use, like beta-carotine to A, and plant's fatty acids into omega 3. Our bodies if we are unhealthy, may lack those enzymes that accomplish this. The nutrients in the animal, are already in a form the body can use. Hope this helps some. The high fat helps us absorb the nutrients, so only a moderate amount of animal products are needed.
