Guest guest
I do a self-protetive thing of bringing a food I can eat to the meetings when they try to do vegetarian and get it to mean pasta etc. I lucked out this past weekend as the Single Adults (my first time in this area) had a break the fast meeting and a discussion/lecture. I loved it that they had the singles bring their kids - it's expensive to pay for babysitters when you're an single parent. I try to find nitrate-free cold cuts so I can carry something with me on my long travel by bus, train etc days. Thank goodness that Subway restaurants can put the meats and cheeses into a salad - I can even get the dressing in a packet on the side. Guest guest
I got the paul mckenna books and cds but I've been focusing on getting sleep right now - I will share that with another friend here who has FM, CFS etc and is on heavy meds for it. While she's using the sleep info I will go for the slim cd. I like how he is neutral in what we eat - but encourages our own choices and ideas on how best to release from addictions and cravings. Guest guest
Hi Jill, Thanks. When I go to assemblies, and have to bring a lunch, I usually bring a cold pack with a boiled egg, my sea salt, some chopped raw red peppers, some almonds, and some plain pork skins. c > > I do a self-protetive thing of bringing a food I can eat to the meetings when they try to do vegetarian and get it to mean pasta etc. Guest guest
Hi Joanne, I will probably be helping out my niece and sister with their second hand store-they are moving into a bigger building. I will not be at home for several days, but probably have access to internet. I am not that worried that this diet is going to hurt me,short or long term, but can understand some have doubts/wavering. My sister and niece have made some changes in their diet and supplements, but not enough to go into ketosis. They see some results. Best. Guest guest
Hi Joanne, I try to check in sometimes. Wish I had more time to devote to this. Met a lady yesterday with fibro, and left my phone number. Her visiting speaker husband gave the talk at our meeting. A group of us went out to eat with them. c > > >  > I am so glad you are still here, missed you so much!!!! >  > Reading your post, it reminded me of a few things when I first began with all this. >  > I was pretty fine with the diet. Yes I made a lot of mistakes and struggled with a lot of it, but having the group here and Bees site plus a few other bits and bobs was enough for me to get through. But those nightmares that come with detoxing, oh my goodness, I really could not cope with all that on my own. Even having you lot here, as loving and supportive as you all are, it was just was not enough, and I dont think it could have been
Guest guest
Hi , As I scrolled on your post I saw some things I would like to ralk on so I am going to do a 2 window thing & try to speak. Fist Diabetes was not rare before WWII (or was it I?). The diagnosis of it was rare. However, it was not as prevalent as it is today because of our diets and stress levels. Many of the blood sugar problems take time to develop. It is the tendency for the condition that is genetic not the actual disease. These things develop because of our overuse of sugars. Also it is generally triggered and the main trigger is stress. Stress acts on the body just as sugar does. The diet for blood sugar problems is really more involved than just a diet. It requires life changes and a big part of that is clearing & then staying as far away from stress as possible. Dr. Mercola is right. Inflimmation is one of our silent and slow killers. It causes so many things from immune problems to mental health problems which are so tied into the rest of our body. I saw further in your post that you said to keep eating saturated fats. I would like to highly suggest that instead you use plant fats such as Olive Oils and avacados, ect. But you are so correct we must have those essential fats. " But I did look it up, to find out how they treated polio in the old days. And to my surprised, many doctors in the past believed polio was caused (or at the very minimum exasperated) by eating too much white bread, pasturised milk, soda drinks, and artificial sweetener " All of these foods are especially bad for all of us. Even those who think that they are getting away with them need to use them very sparingly. Just some thoughts, Suellyn > > > > > > Robin, > > > > > > I do have a friend who has been telling me for months that she thinks I have > > > lyme (along with the other stuff). Guest guest
Good comments, Joanne. Want to add that we have Lyme patients presenting with Parkinson's. One is doing shots of Nupogen - sp? - Robin Re: Is a Fibro attack and Autoimmune Attack ? > > > > > > > Hi Robin, > > My tinnitis comes and goes, and if I get sugar or processed foods, I also get a very itchy ear . If I am tempted, I tell myself, I do not want to feed the bacteria. About Benadryl, seems I read something about its dangers especially for the elderly. This is one- > > http://www.virginiahopkinstestkits.com/benadryl.html > > Also if using, think about why your body produces histamine-it is for a good purpose-to bring blood, itching, swelling, and healing to an injury, or to get rid of a substance. I take a flushing niacin 50 mg, which does not always give me a flush, but it is still helping my body produce histamine-helping to detox, and open my capillaries, and when you take Benadyl, you are preventing your bodies detoxing. We want that blood to get to our poor sore muscles. I have very bad insomnia, and took Ambien, and slept better, but found out it very much increased my pain. Wish I had found out that earlier. Some doctors say you can give Benadryl to small children, and people have killed babies at day cares giving it to them. Neurontin and flexeril help me sleep, but they lose effectiveness after a while, so got off them. Wish there was a solution to this sleeping problem, but whatever helps put you to sleep is going to cause some kind of problem. You did not mention how often you take it. > > With concern, C
Guest guest
Hi Joanne, The weather channel mentioned about the radiation leak perhaps going further. I got off the meds again some weeks ago, but was feeling better. I hate to go back, but pain pretty bad. I stay on the diet 90 %, but now I will push for 100 %, and will do without any nuts, or raw cocoa. Eve with a lemon, and oz of raw almonds, veggies, and tsp of cocoa, it was still less than 30 carbs, even less subtracting fiber. Still except fot the cooked veggies, those other things can be causing me problems. still went for a short walk and did some housework, and some things-have trouble resting completely. I have never hurt really before in lower back, but could be the toxins are moving down there for the first time, plus I have diarreha as a main detox, and now maybe it is following that path. I used to do well on math, and seemed to loss some of that. Strangly though, now I seem to remember numbers better. need to go get somthing to eat. I baked some chicken earlier, and just need to add some veggies. I have a few white willow bark left, does not help much, but will take some. I may be kind of busy next few days, if I help out at the store, plus my job. That movie was made by a Japanese company, and changed a bit for US. I feel spirituallity is very important, and must be nurthured like a good diet. I feed with the Bible and our related literature.
