I seem to have the same problem. My doctor even raised my Doxepin to 50mg to

try and help me sleep. NO DICE !!! It is still 2 or 3 am before I can even

think of closing my eyes. Naps dont do the trick for me either and I get

scared that if I do nap that it will be that much later before I can sleep at

night. I think I was meant to be nocturnal !!!!!!

... you might try changing your sleeping aid to another brand.

As for naps, I use to feel the same way. I felt if I did take a nap I

wouldn't be able to get to sleep untill the wee hours of the morning.

But, to my surprise, it has worked in reverse. I guess it's because I'm

rested enough after taking a nap to get to sleep by 11:00 pm.

... that's wonderful that the OTC brands work for you.

Everything I take is by prescription.... I recently starting taking

clonazepam for the muscle jerking and the nerve tingling in my legs and

arms. I just take a half tablet and I really don't need to take my

sleeping pill..... I guess it settles all the muscles and nerves down

and I drift off to sleep. The only way I found this out was I forgot to

take my pill.... great mind I have.

To all,

There is a natural alternative to sleep problems. It

is called Valarian. I take it because of the over

load of estrogen that is still working its way out of

my body. I would sleep for a few hours and then be

wide awake for the rest of the night. It only took

about 3 nights to take effect. It helps me sleep

soundly but I wake up easily if one of the kids need

me and there is no hangover feeling in the morning.

My brother-in-law also takes it for sleeplessness that

he suffers from a disease that affects his liver. His

liver can't process iron. (Can't remember the name of

the disease.)

I take an 800 mg. tablet every evening. You want to

get the tablets that contain only Valarian, not

Valarian mixed with other herbs. Of course, no one

should take this unless it is discussed with a doctor.

It does work well, and is all natural. Just an idea.
