Guest guest
Thx, Joanne - I'm pretty busy for the next couple days but will get to it this weekend - one quick question - when you say the body burns fat instead of carbs, is this anything related to fasting when we don't eat such that our fat reserves are used - ie we lose weight? thx - Robin Re: Is a Fibro attack and Autoimmune Attack ? > > > > > > > Hi Robin, > > My tinnitis comes and goes, and if I get sugar or processed foods, I also get a very itchy ear . If I am tempted, I tell myself, I do not want to feed the bacteria. About Benadryl, seems I read something about its dangers especially for the elderly. This is one- > > http://www.virginiahopkinstestkits.com/benadryl.html > > Also if using, think about why your body produces histamine-it is for a good purpose-to bring blood, itching, swelling, and healing to an injury, or to get rid of a substance. I take a flushing niacin 50 mg, which does not always give me a flush, but it is still helping my body produce histamine-helping to detox, and open my capillaries, and when you take Benadyl, you are preventing your bodies detoxing. We want that blood to get to our poor sore muscles. I have very bad insomnia, and took Ambien, and slept better, but found out it very much increased my pain. Wish I had found out that earlier. Some doctors say you can give Benadryl to small children, and people have killed babies at day cares giving it to them. Neurontin and flexeril help me sleep, but they lose effectiveness after a while, so got off them. Wish there was a solution to this sleeping problem, but whatever helps put you to sleep is going to cause some kind of problem. You did not mention how often you tak e it. > > With concern, C
Guest guest
Hi, Joanne can explain this better I think, but you take in enough fat to burn through the diet, although some stored fat can be burned. if you are very low carb, your body is not turning the carbs into body fat. Medium fatty acids, and meat fat is not what makes you gain. High carbs turn into fat in the body. I lost about 20 pounds, but gained about 5 back, and now just about right for my size. Coconut oil helps you burn the fat-helps create ketones. It improves metabolism. I think I stay in ketosis most of the time, as I seldom have sugar or high carb foods. I am on a tbs of coconut oil 3 times a day, besides meat fat, and butter. Bee is working on how much extra virgin olive oil to have a day. You don't have to fast to get into ketosis, you can gradually increase fat, and decrease carbs. Even doing that though, it takes a few weeks for you body to change over, and you may feel more tired for that time. Bee still makes refinements, and I can sometimes see the benefits of these. Bee has a problem though with tobacco, and smoking. It can be a topic of debate at times. I do not see any thing good about tobacco use. I take a tsp of cod liver oil twice a day -Carlson, plus a 10,000 unit not beta caratine) A twice a day. I have used it on my face-in small amounts, and it is a bit drying, but really healing comes from within, so got to where I no longer put it on my skin. The flushing niacin -only use 50 mg twice a day along with a B complex. It is now hard to get that amount without filler I try to avoid. I say that because her diet really is not like any other on the Internet. It seems to be when we first look at it because it includes foods and supplements that we can find many places. For example her food list is similar to the foods recommended by the Weston Price Foundation and her supplements are very basic, ie maily whole foods that everyday folk buy daily > > For me the essence of her diet is the ketosis. Not everybody that uses Bees diet ensures they are in ketosis all the time like I do. Ketosis basically means our body is no longer using glucose to create energy, it is using ketones. Anyway, from what I am seeing with myself and from what i see with my dad (he has PArkinsons) being in ketosis not only provides me with a better source of energy, some how my immune system can fight off disease, lots of disease when it is in ketosis > > Anyway, that what I ahve just told you is what I have experienced and seen with my dad, and a few other people but Bee herself does not argue that ketosis itself is better, instead Bee argues that eating the foods and taking the supplements at the level she says provides optimal nutrition for the immune system to work effectively. I am thinking this is also true because the more precisely i follow her diet the more healing occurs for me > > There are many diets on the Internet that use similar ideas to what bee uses but where I have found Bees diet works for me best is that it does not cost a great deal of money to do, and the the idea that she has of simplicity with meals and so on also works well for me. The diet is something I can do fairly easily without much thinking > > The other good thing for me has been that the very high intake of fat she advocates has eliminated all the problems I ahd with sugar/starch and binge eating > > Using Bees diet I managed to get of ALL my medication > > I have also lost 55lb (first with the Atkins diet and then later with Bees diet) > > My pain is down from 8 to 10 out of 10 to 1 to 3 out of 10 > My IBS has gone from 8 to 10 out of 10 to 1 or 2 out of 10 > My poor sleep has gone from 8 to 10 out of 10 to 1 to 3 out of 10 > My PMS has gone from 8 to 10 out of 10 to 1 or 2 out of 10 > My arthritic pain has gone from 8 to 10 out of 10 to 1 to 3 out of 10 > Even my sacroiliac pain is down to about 3 out of 10 and my limp that I thought I would never get rid of has gone > My anxiety and depression are down. I want to say that is 1 to 3 out of 10 because generally it has been, but this last two week it has not been but honest truely, I have a whole load of madness going on here right now. Although I have been incredibly sad, I have been fortunate that my Fibro has not been out of control. I did have a proper flare the other day, the first full flare in about 18 months, but it soon passed and although my life is still kind of wobbly, I am generally coping. This is not something I would have ever been able to say if I was not on this diet > > There are 4 things that still remain for me and do give me concern. None of these are terribly bad but I think they are injuries left over from when I was ill, I do not know if my immune system will be able to repair these > > I know my gut is damaged, it is my small intestine. fortunately I do not eat gluten or much lactose or anything else that could damage this more. Right now the feeling of injury is very faint (1 out of 10) but if I ate carbs this would flare easily > > My sacroiliac joint is still damaged. Never do I have no sensation there, but even now the sensation is not terrible (1 to 3 out of 10) but I just feel concerned about this joint. It is like this is a trigger point. I feel if this joint was well all my joints would be well > > This brings me onto the third thing. All, every single one of my joints is affected. Again I am not in agony, not now I am on the diet, but it does affect what I do. I do not feel I can lift heavy things and fine motor activities can still be difficult. But I do get through and overall there is a small amount of improvement with all of this monthly > > the forth thing, and this is probably the most worrying thing is the right side of my brain is not right. I do not think this is getting worse, and to be honest I think it is slowly getting better but it is a concern. I used to be great with mathese and stuff, but now I struggle with a lot of numerical stuff and I no longer have a very good memory > > All I can tell you is that since getting myself into full time ketosis, eating only the foods on Bees list and taking the supplements she recommends and nothing more I ahve seen dramatic improvement regarding my condition. I trust Bees program and I feel I do not need anything else > > where I have gone wrong lately is in my everyday Life I ahve taken on more than I can cope with and I am now having to pull in the reigns. This has destabalised my and this lack of balance in my life is antagonising my illness. The good news is I can see what is going on, but it is frustrating wanting to do more than I can do. I need to get back to looking at where I am at with things and doing things in accordance with my recovery. Trying to force more wellness more joy more activity always sends me backwards > > Anyway, I have warbled enough here. Here is Bee site > > http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/ > > although Bee started out helping people with Candida over the years she has learned more and more about other illnesses and now she helps people with lots of different illnesses including autism, cancer, crohns, HIV etc > > I do hope this is helpful. It took me a whie to get my head around this lot but by doing just a little here and a little there I have found it has worked well for me > > Kindest regards > > Joanne
Guest guest
Still don't have time to read Bee's site yet, but I do know sugar feeds the bacteria and also slows the immune system, so by not eating carbs, we are avoiding all that - Robin Re: Is a Fibro attack and Autoimmune Attack ? > > > > > > > Hi Robin, > > My tinnitis comes and goes, and if I get sugar or processed foods, I also get a very itchy ear .
